    Review from Houston

I'm glad to see this book finally reprinted. It's well worth the price... goes for twice that on Ebay for 20 year old copies. Considering the book was written only months after the murders occurred it's amazingly thorough and detailed. The writer doessn't have much good to say about Houston... which may be one reason even most Houstonians have never heard about this case... or don't want too. The book is easy to read and almost impossible to put down or forget... especially if you live in the city and drive by the places mentioned everyday! I've been unable to find any inaccuracies in the writing and this book paints a fascinating picture of the dark side of the gay 'revolution' of the early 70's and total police incompetence when dealing with cases like this one. I give 'Man with the Candy' 4 stars out of 5 overall for lack of photographs. 5 of 5 for the writing itself. I have read this book twice.
