Overview

My name is Hunter Jordan, lead singer of Hammered and no, I didn't name my c*ck Manaconda.

Rolling Stone did.

On the front cover of their damn magazine.

I still haven't lived it down. And now our record label wants to maximize the frenzy.

So, I have a brand new PR person–Kennedy McManus.

And she's making me insane.

I don't know whether to ignore her, yell at her, or push her up against the wall and kiss her smart mouth shut.

I ended up kissing her.

Come on, I mentioned how exasperating she was, right?

That's when it blew up in both our faces.

Now, the tabloids think she's my girlfriend. My record label would rather have me remain the single manwhore of the ages.

Kennedy thinks I'm the manwhore anyway. She wants me for a quick fling and nothing more.

I just want Kennedy.

Man, I'm so screwed.

I liked it but for some reason it felt slow to me. Please dont tell me theres going to be 6+ more books in this series. Just write a book and charge me more. With lost in oblivion i havnt read my new book yet cuz i have to go back and read them from the beginning in order to remember whats going on with everyone. Maybe you should give an update on previous books in the series before we start reading the new book.

Hammered was very funny and romantic at the same time. Kennedy and Hunter were the prefect couple once he figured out the romance part.

Good read. Not your typical rock star book, which is great.

I really liked this book, and loved the references to Oblivion....which I also loved. Great story and no cliffhanger!!! Just purchased the next book in the series.

This was a good start to s new series. I loved the characters and how the relationship developed. However there were lots of grammatical errors and the dog was a female for a few paragraphs then it was a make fire the rest of the book. The errors didn't take much away from the story so over all I liked it just wish there had been better proof reading and editingfor this story. I think I'll read the next book hopefully the aren't the sane kind of errors in it.

Have you seen the cover?! And the title?!!! Yes, my thoughts exactly! How could I not read it, right?! And if that wasn't convincing enough, this should do it: "Mana-f***-conda. Minus the f*** in the middle, plus a few extra millimeters at the tip. Hey, gotta finish strong, right?" OK, seriously folks, the story is quite good and the characters are awesome. But my favourite by far was Kennedy aka. Kenny. She has sass, looks and is one smart capable woman with a strong career that she achieved on her own! She didn't have connections or slept her way to the top, heck no, she worked her a** off to get to where she is now. And that is one of the best PRs you'll ever see, just ask Prince Harry, if ya don't believe me. ;) As said, she knows what she's doing professionally. In private life tho, that's a whole different situation. But of course she didn't see Hunter aka. Manaconda coming her way. Ah, Hunter. I felt kinda sorry for him because of the whole Manaconda thing but mainly I just had a laugh. Since his (un)fortunate interview in the Rolling Stone magazine and the following cover, he's been the big talk in the papers. Or should I say one part of him was. And by now we all know which part I mean, right? And since the sales were going so good, why not make some more money, so the best solution was to bring in Kenny. Of course no one knew what would happen once those two met. I loved those two together, they knew how to push each others buttons and how to have fun. The only thing that really got on my nerves was the whole ex plot. Seriously, I get when you get some drama with that person once or twice but to actually have that same thing happening every 30 pages or so, you start losing my interest in the story. The only saving grace was the characters love for dogs in their Love & Paws project. They definitely got some points back with that one. I adored that and you could see they really loved animals and did something so selfless to help them. I only wished there were more people like them to help those poor creatures. I think this is my first book by this author and I have a feeling it won't be the last. So, if you like the blurb, go ahead and read it. :)

Manaconda,  Taryn Elliott & Cari Quinn Review from Jeannie Zelos book reviews Genre:  Romance, General Fiction (adult)  A rock star romance,a weakness for me...and the magic Taryn Elliot/Cari Quinn duo so I had to request it ;-) I loved the Oblivion books so looked forward to this. Once more the writing style was easy to follow, flowed well, and full of little snarks and funny quips. Sometimes they’re so subtle I almost missed them, then they hit me and had me sniggering. I loved Kennedy and Hunter but....it just felt very brief, truncated almost as though I was waiting forever for something to happen and then – bam- it was over. Their first meeting covers around 30% of the book, which means all the rest kind of gets compressed especially as its quite a short read. (actually it’s not – I just checked and its 275 pages, but just feels much shorter? Maybe because I spent a lot of it feeling as though I was waiting for something to happen. ) Its not really got that typical Rock star read feel about it, and I was Really frustrated that one major plotline that was touted so much throughout the book seemed to have just got dropped, forgotten, passed off with a few words between the two characters. That just wasn't good enough for me, I needed to know what was behind things, and why. Really irritating, but maybe a future read will tell more and I'll understand. . I did feel for Hunter over the whole Manaconda issue, that must get so annoying when people focus on that and not the music, is quite demeaning but of course in our shallow world so very, very real. I wasn’t really convinced of the romance between the two, they seemed definitely in Lust with each other but more than that? Dunno, I wasn’t feeling it. I did like reading the dual POV, that always works for me, I feel I know characters better that way. I would have liked to see more of the band, the members and the way they interact. Oblivion did that so well for me, and I missed it here. I did like the cameo references to that band :-) Its a story I enjoyed reading, a fun read, but I felt it was lacking in some indefinable way – the drama maybe? The connection between Hunter and Kennedy? Maybe just that I didn’t really feel I knew them well as people rather than rock star and PR person. If Hammered is to become a series ala Oblivion maybe I’ll get to know them better that way. Stars: Three, a fun read but a one off only. ARC supplied by Netgalley and publishers

A man much more than media’s Manaconda If you’re looking for tongue-in-cheek humor or full out laughing out loud situations, you’re going to love the predicaments Jordan and Kennedy find themselves in. Between a rockstar who is all about his art being the spotlight of media all because of his package and the PR rep that finds that no matter how much she’d like to keep her clients at arms length it just doesn’t work with this one, you’ll find these two quite engaging. The chemistry is hot and steamy. There is plenty of drama. But be forewarned, just when you think you’re headed for HEA you’ll get dumped on your butt with a cliffhanger. That’s the frustrating thing about ebooks at times, you’re at the end before you know it, only to discover it’s only episode one. So, if you don’t mind serial romances this one is quite entertaining and promises to deliver. *****Reviewed for Xtreme-Delusions*****

Hunter is this badass rockstar who was given the nickname “Manaconda” after an unfortunate picture of him comes to light in Rolling Stone. Hunter is pissed that’s all anybody wants to talk about when he wishes that they’d go back to respecting him for his musical talents. His manager decides to help him remake his image by hiring a PR rep, Kennedy. Kennedy is a god of a PR rep that is known for her talent of turning crazy famous folks images around. She made a name for herself in this business and wouldn’t usually do anything to hurt that. But when she lays eyes on Hunter the attraction is immediate and within minutes of meeting the two are caught in a lip locked. To help his image, Hunter and Kennedy wind up pretending to date and things heat up from there when their fake relationship becomes more to both of them. I really loved this book, this book is told in dual POV so we get both sides. It’s fast paced and will keep you flipping the pages. Cari and Taryn have found a way to make a great book into a Cliffhanger. I can’t wait to see where Cari and Taryn are taking us on this Rock N Roll coster!

Hunter Jordan is the lead singer for Hammered, but he's best known for his Manaconda, as named by Rolling Stone. Kennedy McManus is the PR rep tasked with corralling him during his band's CD release week. Neither of them is prepared for the Sparks that fly between them, or how his fans eat up the thought of her being his real life girlfriend. I love that this is a series set as an offshoot of the Lost in Oblivion guys, and that there are glimpses of some of our beloved LIO characters in this series. This story ends with a cliffhanger and I cannot wait to see how it continues.

MANACONDA is the first installment in Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott’s contemporary, adult HAMMERED erotic, rock romance series focusing on the rock band Hammered. This is lead singer Hunter Jordan, and PR expert Kennedy McManus’s story line. HAMMERED is a spin off series from Quinn and Elliot’s LOST IN OBLIVION rock romance series. You do not have to have read LOST IN OBLIVION to follow MANACONDA. Several of the characters from the original series cross over with cameo appearances. NOTE: MANACONDA ends on a cliffhanger but MANACONDA : The Second Coming is schedule for release January 26, 2016-and it’s FREE. Told from dual first person points of view (Kennedy and Hunter) MANACONDA focuses on Kennedy’s attempts to keep the band-HAMMERED-on track when their lead singer’s ‘junk’ becomes the topic of paparazzi magazines, television gossip shows, and the cover of Rolling Stone magazine. Hunter Jordan is a rock-god, at the top of his game with a new album, a new tour, and every woman and man’s fantasy come to life but this kind of ‘publicity’ he could do without. Enter Kennedy McManus, Ripper Records’s latest PR princess (spin doctor), and the woman who calls to Hunter’s heart. But Hunter is having a difficult time letting go of the past when his ex-fiancee has an agenda of her own. MANACONDA is a rock star romance with all of the gritty backstage drama you would expect from a rock star band. The ‘over the top’ antics, rivalries and jealous mind games begin to cast doubts between one time friends, and members of the band leaving Kennedy with her hands full on more than one occasion. But a second chance comes with a heavy heart when Hunter continues to fight for what is no longer his to claim. The jealous mind is no competition for a broken heart. We are introduced to the members of the band: drummer Hudson Wyatt; Faith (Keys) Keystone; bassist Owen Blackwell; guitarists Reed (Bats) Mason, and Zach; and head of security Patrick; as well as Hunter’s brother Noah Jordan, and the band’s manager Indiana (Indie) West. Donovan Lewis and Lila Shawcross (from Lost in Oblivion) make cameo appearances, and Dex Munroe another executive for Ripper Records. MANACONDA has a little bit of everything: fun, flirty foreplay; sexual tension and impassioned $ex. There are moments of chocolate fun, and garlic filled humor that are lick-worthy from every angle. The premise is addicting, intoxicating and hopeful; the characters are colorful, passionate and intense; the romance is seductive and heartbreaking. The happily ever after has yet to be fulfilled.

Loved it! I'm crazy about Rockstar romance stories and Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliot signed, sealed and delivered it. Waiting for their new series has been worse than counting down the days to Christmas. Sexy Rockstar, Hunter is dealing with a very personal dilemma, Rolling Stone magazine placed him on their cover but failed to notice his "Manacoda" was all in for the photo shoot! Enter PR expert Kennedy McManus who generally keeps a level head when surrounded by excentric musicians. When these two are in the same room you can feel the pull all the way from the chair your curled up reading this book in. Cliffhangers are tough and I generally like to wait for the whole series to enjoy them, but I just couldn't wait. I knew Cari and Taryn would rock it. I look at it as a 2 for 1 - I'll get to reread the first one (yippy) a day or so before the Next one comes out.

So help me there's a cliffhanger! Manaconda lives up to its name! Huge action, fantastic characters, great story of rockers, managers and sex! Cari & Taryn know how to keep a girl intrigued. Yup, there is a cliffhanger but I think it will be worth the wait. Poor mis-used Hunter (Rocker star Manaconda) - he hates what his life has become. Kennedy waltzes into his life to keep him on the straight and narrow during a "release week" for the band. Rocking good times!! So fun and .... and I can't wait for part two!

Hunter meets Kennedy when she show's up as they are promoting their new album. Turns out she is there as a PR representative. Hunter is sick of the attention his body part is getting, due to a popular magazine cover. Kennedy just wants to help the band do well. Kennedy is also annoyed that he calls her "Kenny." He wants to get her attention with something different and he is sure no one else calls her that. She is all suited up and looking good. Hunter just wants someone to love him for himself. Is that even possible anymore? Kennedy is the first person to look under the obvious. Is it possible to make a future with these feelings? They will only find out if...... ah no. I am not going to spoil the fun. This book had such an amazing story! The character development was good. The banter and sparring was great. There was humor, sincerity, heat, family, and of course the music. I really liked this story! I cannot wait for the next installment. ***This ARC copy was given in exchange for an honest review.

The first I’ve read by this author duo, and Manaconda was steamy, saucy, snarky and wholly clever full of the frustrations of fame and those who are hired to make it all smoother. Hunter is the lead singer of a band that has had moderate success until a pair of too tight jeans and a hips forward pose lead all the attention to his nether regions. (A true testament to the dangers of the skinny jean!) One photo wouldn’t be so bad, but a Rolling Stone cover shot, creating a celebrity name for the appendage, and fueling the frenzy around the band member’s sex appeal becomes the new thing. Like Bennifer or Brangelina, Manaconda becomes Hunter’s name, and he quite rightly, wants to be seen as more. Enter Kennedy, PR person with a magic wand, stellar reputation and killer attitude. She’s not particularly happy about this assignment, but owing a favor to one of the biggest names in the business means you step up when called, and she was called. From the start, her ingenuity and patience are tested, and the sparks between she and Hunter are palpable. A hidden passageway, a bowl of pasta and mushrooms and solid banter lead to a kiss that is hotter than hot and appears on social media. I really liked Kennedy, and Hunter has his moments: wanting to be seen as more than the new moniker, trying to find a new center and not allow the personal fame to color the band’s reputation is a tricky situation. He’s a bit little boy lost, and while he has a playboy’s reputation, he’s really just waning his own ‘one’. Kennedy isn’t looking for a man – she’s far too career driven and her childhood didn’t show her that men were more than unreliable. A dalliance is fine, dangerous and a wholly bad idea for it to be a client – but one night is one night. Hot, dirty and sexy with plenty of laughs and some clever moments with secondary characters keep the story moving forward, even when it’s moving in the wrong direction. Alternating narratives for both Jordan and Kennedy give a more complete picture of each moment, and their voices are solidly complimentary. Clever and fun, a great start to a new series even with the cliffhanger. This one could have been worse – the main issues between Hunter and Kennedy are not given any sort of solid finality, although many mini-moments are concluded. A bit of a letdown at the conclusion if I’m honest, but it’s a super fun story, read in one sitting with a giggle sort of fun, and holds hope for something special in the series. I received an eArc copy of the title from the author via Tour Company for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Hunter Jordan wants the focus to be on the music his band Hammered produces and plays, but when an iconic magazine nicknames a part of his anatomy "manaconda", attention shifts and his well-endowed manhood is all people can seem to talk about. Sent to put the right kind of spin on the manaconda frenzy is PR specialist Kennedy McManus, and from the beginning, Hunter and Kennedy have the kind of chemistry that could be the makings of a legendary rock star romance or that of a PR disaster waiting to happen and taking everyone with it. There's a lot of flirty and outrageous banter between Hunter and Kennedy and the sex is hot, but there's also proof that there's an actual connection there, one that's more than just physical. I've already come to expect cliffhangers from Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott, but the one found here isn't the kind that left me feeling frustrated. If anything, I'm rather excited to read how Hunter and Kennedy will navigate the ins and outs of a very public relationship and how, if anything, Hunter's past and the rest of the band will play into it. This series starter is a fast-paced, sexy, and fun read, and one that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend, regardless if you're already a fan of Cari Quinn's and Taryn Elliott's. The high jinks and outrageous situations Hunter and Kennedy find themselves in are as entertaining as the sweeter and sexier moments. Manaconda is a five-starred rock star romance that you should definitely check out. ♥

Great big hit Hunter "Manaconda" Jordan is the lead singer of Hammered Kennedy "Kenny" McManus is the PR princess. This is a great read about a rock star who wants to be known for his music and the work and his rock family but gets bigger because of the nickname that a magazine gave him. Then he also has to figure out do people want to be with him for him for because of who he is, what he can do for them, or be cause he is "Manaconda". This is a great quick read. Cari Quinn and Taryn Elliott did it again, yes we have to wait till January 26th to get more, can't wait.
