Written during WWII, soon after the rise of Fascism in Germany, Italy and Spain, and not long after the Communist revolution in Russia, Burnham's thesis in the Managerial Revoultion is that capitalism is finished, and that the world will be inherited by 'managers'--administrators in business and government. Events, of course, proved Burnham wrong--neither Fascism nor Communism outlived capitalism--yet, what has emerged is not unfettered capitalism, but rather the triumph of 'managers' in Big Business and Big Government. As such, this book remains relevant as ever, and is worth reading. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
