Meet the Author

Linda K. Treviño is Professor of OrganizationalBehavior, Cook Fellow in Busness Ethics, and Director of theShoemaker Program in Business Ethics in the Smeal College ofBusiness Administration at The Pennsylvania State University whereshe has been on faculty since 1987. She served as Chair of theDepartment of Management and Organization from 1999 - 2003. Sheholds a Ph.D. in management  from Tesas A&M University.Her research and writing on the management of ethical conduct inorganizations is widely published and is internationally known.Shehas published about fifty journal articles and has co-authored anacademic book entitled, Managing Ethics in Business Organizations:Social Scientific Perspectives, with Gary Weaver, in 2003.

Katherine A. Nelson is currently on the faculty of theFox School of Business and Management, Temple University, where sheteaches business ethics, introduction to management, and “HRon the Ground,” a course she designed that was named one of“Ten College Courses That Pay Off at Work” (U.S. News& World Report, April 26, 2010). She also has taught businessethics to executive MBAs at the University of Delaware and toexecutives at Wharton Executive Education at the University ofPennsylvania. (She was a senior fellow in ethics at the WhartonSchool for several years in the early 1990s.) In 2010, she washonored with the Fox School’s annual Andrisani-Frank Awardfor Excellence in Teaching.  Kate enjoyed a thirty-year careerin business before transitioning to academia. She was a principaland communications practice leader for Mercer Human ResourcesConsulting in Philadelphia, where she managed a 19-person team ofconsultants delivering services to Mercer’s clients insoutheastern Pennsylvania, New Jersey, and upstate New York.Earlier, she was vice president and head of worldwide HRcommunication at Citicorp in New York and has held similarpositions at a subsidiary of Merrill Lynch and at Honeywell. Theethics game she created at Citicorp, The Work Ethic, was awardedthe Gold Quill of Excellence by the International Association ofBusiness Communicators. The Work Ethic and similar games shedeveloped have been used in numerous business schools includingHarvard, Wharton, Columbia, Oxford, and INSEAD; and by numerousorganizations including NASA, General Electric, and J.P. Morgan. Kate received her B.A. from the College of Mount St. Vincentin New York City and is completing graduate work in human resourcesmanagement at Temple University.
