Managing International Business: New Paradigms

The Information Age is fast leading to information overload as students of business are bombarded with new ideas from the internet and AI. Managing International Business is an accessible core textbook acting as an information hub to bring a sense of perspective and calm. Where other theorists, practitioners and consultants are struggling to come to terms with the accelerating dynamism of modern enterprise, this book embraces the paradigm shifts. Combining real-life examples with the dominant theoretical explanations, it clarifies the fundamental purpose of commercial activities across the world. Students will take a grip on the grass roots of business success by learning to think like superstar managers.

Managing International Business incorporates the thrill of rapidly emerging business opportunities whilst acknowledging that the need to do business is one of the great constants of human civilisation. The new paradigms in e-commerce, internet of things (IoT) and AI augmented management were not created in a vacuum and this textbook shows the global business picture in its complete form. Brand new topics include:

  • The Value-Cost Model as the beating heart of commerce
  • The Decision Making Matrix (DMM) for guiding foreign direct investment (FDI) decisions
  • Vertical Joint Ventures (VJV) as a long-term form of collaboration
  • Incorporating AI into business management
  • Units of Organisation as the building blocks of corporate structures
  • Embracing the opportunities when confronted by environmental and ethical challenges

When offered a choice between high quality, high price academic sources and dubious internet sources available for free, students are being tempted away to a second-rate education. Managing International Business is intended to make academic perspectives as accessible as possible. Especially in its e-book form it is priced to be affordable to students around the world. Not surprisingly, it is becoming the tentpole textbook for business studies!
