Come visit Manchester, New Hampshire! You'll see children playing ball, people jogging by, and a host of pious nuns and monks. It all seems pretty wholesome, until you realize that the people you're seeing are ghosts!

Covering everything from the haunted houses of today, back to the local legends of the Native Americans who lived here long before Manchester existed, this book will give you a different perspective of the history and culture of New Hampshire's Queen City a ghostly one.

Who is the ghost that calms the frightened patients at Elliott Hospital?

Are child laborers still haunting the R.G. Sullivan Building?

Would you jog with the deceased River Road Jogger or visit the haunted Youth Detention Center on River Road?

And are you brave enough to read about the Hanover Street apartment with demon-like occurrences?

Read an interview with Manchester's very own ghost hunter, and learn how to experience the paranormal yourself. If you dare...

These are only some of the chills and scares that reside within these pages!

The stories are interesting so far (I've read the first 5). They're short and if you grew up in NH it's a cool book to read. I'm just a little appalled at the fact that the author doesn't know the difference between "then" and "than". Apparently she graduated college majoring in creative writing yet doesn't know simple grammar that was taught to most in 3rd grade? I'm on page 30 and EVERY time the word "than" is meant to be used "then" is written instead. Like I said I'm on page 30 and I've found EIGHT errors already, 5 of which are incorrect uses of then/than. The other three were either a word placed where it shouldn't be, making the sentence make NO sense at all, or a complete misspelling altogether. I don't know who edited this, who would publish this but they should be ashamed. Not to mention the "writer" who graduated college with a degree in writing can't write at least ONE chapter of their book without making an error?  By the way, the chapters are 3-5 pages long with big letters and pictures along the way...It's seriously annoying. Maybe I should publish some stories and get rich, I'd do better than (see THAN) Rennee Mallett! I'm no scholar by the way, I'm just a 21 year old community college student who actually retained some knowledge from my grade school days. I can't wait to see what other crimes against grammar she has in store for the rest of the book. Ridiculous.

The stories are fasinating! Short and to the point! I do work at St. Joseph Middle school in the Boiler Room, and now I walk around the school with my senses on high alert!

I thought this book was interesting and somewhat scary at the same time. Seeing I grew up in Manchester NH I have been to some of these places, and others I haven't. Some of these places just by looking at them or driving by you'd know that they would be haunted. Can't wait to lend it to others to read.

Very well written, description is flawless in each story. Trying to savor it so the book will not end too fast.

A nice interesting read. The stories are like the ones heard sitting around a campfire in the dark woods with good friends.I didn't want the book to end!
