I didn't particularly enjoy this book due to the art. The descriptions were okay and I enjoyed reading through it, but there's only so long you can read the words and not pay any attention to the pictures. The artwork, in general, is extremely lacking. Facial expressions are exaggerated, but half the time the nose doesn't look right and the eyes are either too close, too far apart, or something else that's indescribeable. The anatomy is often messed up and out-of-proportion. The art, in my view, features that of western animation with manga/anime trademarks placed on top. I'd recommend this book to people who are just going to learn to draw for fun instead of being a serious mangaka (Manga artist).

this book really helped me get started in my drawing. I was drawing great looking anime in a couple of days. Okum makes it really easy going through the steps. I highly recommend this book.
