    I Also Recommend:

    Start Drawing Like A Pro!

Mangamania was my second manga art guide. It goes beyond basic drawing for those who are ready to start their mangaka days. Mangamania introduces the reader to shojo romance such as tips for different attitude girls, to hot bishies of every type, and finally camera ranges and special effects to emphasize the mood of each comic scene. It also provides a small section with japanese sound effects and common japanese names to make you look more professional!

I admit, the book doesn't exactly help you to make up your own c

I admit, the book doesn't exactly help you to make up your own characters, but it definitely is good inspiration for doing so. Manga mania girl power basically provides tutorials throughout the book to design a series of numerous, different characters from spunky tomboys to wiches, shojo and angels. The only reason I don't fulfill five stars is because after all one-hundred-and-forty-three pages of guidance, it just doesn't feel complete. Over-all, it's a great book with much to offer, would definitely recommend to anyone interested in getting their creativity in art started.

    Very Helpful

This was the first book I purchased in order to learn how to draw manga. It's very helpful, especially if you are learning how to draw females first. However, I didn't like that it mainly covers females in the step to step and just shows you different styles for males. Once you learn how to draw males some other way this book is really very useful and has lots of nice styles of clothes and characters. I recommend this book to beginners who have grasped how to draw bodies. Great reference.

    Good

Wow feeling so much nostalgia for this one. Used to watch a bunch of romance anime and wondered how to draw it. Back when I would draw anime now and then, especially in art class. And that cover.

    Delicious!! Candy for the eyes~

This edition of Manga Mania (Romance) REALLY is awesome! Vivid colors fill each page, along with basic anatomy for manga/anime-style boys and girls. It has a section on Bishie boys-which I love because it gives a wide variety of styles so that the reader can really experience different types of drawing-styles. A real treat emerges at the end, where Hart demonstrates how to set up a panel like in a manga book. He goes through perception and views of certain scenes and describes each one giving good little tips here and there. It's really a learning book as much as a drawing book. This book really helped me with creating manga panels and how to use speech bubble placement and incorporate different emotions into sophisticated scenes. A Must-have for any manga-lover interested in drawing shojo manga.
