Overview

This sketchbook from best-selling author Christopher Hart’s Manga Mania series is perfect for any shoujo fan or budding artist interested in learning how to draw in this popular manga and anime style. Of all the forms of manga, shoujo is the one directed almost entirely at girls. Many—though by no means all—of these stories focus on romance, have flowing, very pretty art, and highlight characters with youthful charm and huge, glistening eyes.

This sketchbook will attract a huge audience eager to find out how to draw key elements of the style and it will give these fans a place to practice their newfound skills. The first part of the book gives step-by-step instruction and teaches readers how to draw a “pretty girl” head, a Shoujo boy figure, beautiful Shoujo eyes, the most popular manga hairstyles, stylish outfits, and Magical Girl characters complete with monster mascots.

Artists can then use the high quality paper in the second part of the book to put these lessons to use and hone their craft, making it the perfect gift for beginners and shoujo fans alike.

    A gift worth giving

I bought this as a gift for my niece. I asked her to let me know how well she enjoyed the sketch book. She is quite the artist for a 15 year old girl who dresses a little goth. Almost every time I see my niece she invites me to look at her sketches. Thank you for making Magna Mania available. I also give as gifts your journals with colorful covers to young people. These sketch and journal books are an excellent way to help keep the young mind active in a positive way.

    A reviewer

I saw this sketchbook, and being a manga artist, fell in love with it. I though, 'Okay, I'll get this and fill it with pictures for my boyfriend.' Only to relize that when you erase on this paper, it leaves lines and smuges behind. And when you use ink or copics on it, they smuge and go all over and don't dry very fast. I think its still cute and I think the pages in the front that show you how to draw are okay and they are adorable.
