This Manga Mania title from award winning author Christopher Hart shows new artists how to draw manga girls step-by-step. Hart gives cartoonists detailed lessons on how to draw girls in the popular anime style, from action poses to faces, eyes, and hair. His huge cast of characters includes angels of light and darkness, a sushi chef, samurai, shopaholics, a pirate, a judge, athletes, schoolgirls, and a veterinarian tending to a sick cute monster. And, since manga girls rarely sit still, aspiring illustrators will learn how to draw them in action, in a variety of situations.

I admit, the book doesn't exactly help you to make up your own characters, but it definitely is good inspiration for doing so. Manga mania girl power basically provides tutorials throughout the book to design a series of numerous, different characters from spunky tomboys to wiches, shojo and angels. The only reason I don't fulfill five stars is because after all one-hundred-and-forty-three pages of guidance, it just doesn't feel complete. Over-all, it's a great book with much to offer, would definitely recommend to anyone interested in getting their creativity in art started.
