The letters were juvenile. Their story continues in the next book in the series, however, it is only 82 pages. It feels like a rip off to pay $2.99 for a book with only 80 pages when it should have been in book 1. Ms. Tatum, I'm done, thanks!!!!

This is a story of redemption, lost love, found love, and forgiveness.

I received this book in exchange for an honest review. This is not the type of book I typically buy or read. While very well written, it did take me some time to get interested in the story. It is written in first person POV and switched from Cade to Francesca and back at each chapter. While that, in itself, is something that bothers me while reading, Ms. Tatum did a very good job with character voice and separation.

The story left me with a smile on my face at the happiness the two characters were finally able to achieve, after so much heartbreak. For those interested in sweet, realistic love stories, I would recommend this story, and even the series.

    Now that I've read it

It was refreshing to see that Cade wasn't some larger than life hero, in fact he had some very human flaws and Francesca's not some hard nose lawyer. 3/4th of the way into the story; the author seems to have run outof mater to keepthe story going so it seemed to drag on and on.
Free or otherwise, if I had read this review, I wouldn't bother to read this ebook. Don't recommend.

    Ugh

Ok details are important to me. So 9 yrs ago she was a sophmore and he was a senior. Fall 8 yrs ago she still saw him in the halls of high school? 2 yrs of highschool, 4 yrs under grad, 3 yrs law school plus 3 yrs working for law firm. That equals more than 9 in my book and she was only 25.
Glad it was free. Because it was not well written and very over rated.

After all the good ratings I expected more. I felt like the last twenty pages or so draged on and could have been cut down. I dont know i expect more drama/ complications. The book over all was okay. I wouldnt continue with the series

This book is one of the reasons that I love to read so much!! Felicia writes REAL!! She writes with inelegance, she writes with sadness! Not all love stories are rainbows & roses.. not always. Love takes work, and she shows that! Mangled Hearts shows us that, &, with work, comes hope. Plenty of emotion in this one! I am looking forward to where Francesca & Cade go from here.

Cade's a mess in the beginning, coping in some pretty bad ways.
    Francesca can't be kept down.
Great story that takes you through addiction and recovery, and best of all love

Mangled Hearts is the first book in the Scarred Hearts series. The story is about Francesca and Cade. It is raw emotion, realistic and not your typical love story.

Francesca is a lawyer and is getting frustrated because she feels like her firm is not utilizing her skills. She finally gets a case and she has to represent Cade Welling...the boy that stole her heart in high school. Cade Welling is handsome, reckless and always in trouble. He was in high school and seems to be continuing that trend years later. Even with his reckless and troublesome behavior, he has very strong feelings for Francesca and sees this as a second chance...or is it a way to have closure? Guess you’ll have to read to find out!
I really enjoyed this story. I couldn’t put it down. I loved Francesca’s interactions with everyone. She is a smart, independent woman and isn’t afraid to truly stand for what she believes in. Even though Cade had a lot of negative things going for him, I think that he is a genuinely good person underneath his not so great behavior. It is hard to admit when you have a problem (or problems). I think Francesca and Cade made each other stronger in different ways. Both had some flaws and they complimented each other well. I loved the chemistry they had and felt like I was truly a part of their story. Things weren’t perfect in their story and it felt real

I have read a few stories now by Felicia Tatum and have loved everything thus far. Keep up the awesome work. Looking forward to more!

    Enjoyable

Francesca is a lawyer at a big law firm. She is tormented by a tragic accident that occurred her Sr year of HS. Cade is an alcoholic, spiralling out of control.

Francesca and Cade met in HS. Cade fell in love with Francesca but knew she deserved better. Francesca fell in love with Cade but didn't understand why he destroyed their friendship. Now, years later, she gets her first court case--representing Cade.

As they try to sort out their feelings, misconceptions, and fears, they rediscover their love. Can Cade overcome his addictions and become the man he wants to be? The man Francesca deserves?

I really enjoyed this book. It dealt with addictions and rehab in a way that was uplifting. Showing happiness and sobriety were attainable. I realize the book didn't go into a lot of the deep details on this subject but it does mention the problems facing those striving for sobriety and those trying to maintain sobriety.

My only problem with the book was the timeline. According to how long it had been since they last spoke, Francesca would be 23-24. However, she went to college, then law school, and has been a lawyer for 3 years. Doesn't change the quality of the story.

While this is a stand alone book, their story is continued in Entangled Souls. I intend to read it soon.

Mangled Hearts will take you on an emotional journey of second chances. Written from a dual POV from Cade and Francesca. Cade and Francesca have a past going back to high school. That unspoken connection that they feel for each other is abruptly severed with a tragedy that they both share. Fast forward 7 years later. Cade is an alcoholic. He is drowning away his demons and pain of the past. Francesca is a lawyer trying to prove her way in a law firm dominated by men. When the chance is given to her to present her first case, she is ecstatic. Her joy is short lived when she realizes her first client will be Cade. They both cannot deny that the feelings that shared in the past have not diminished, that spark is still there. Both of them have suffered loss and have been broken. Can they face their past and overcome the issues that they face. Will they be given that second chance that they are both hoping for, and have that future they always dreamed of? Felicia Tatum dealt with the issues of heartbreak, redemption, loss and most importantly addiction. Cade's addiction was addressed with the respect and dignity that it should be. You will route for Cade and cry for Francesca. Truly a believable and well written book.

Mangled Hearts was exceptionally written! Cade and Francesca story is one that stands the test of time. It's about love, sacrifice and redemption. Francesca has a heart of gold but doesn't believe in herself enough to think that Cade could love her. On the other hand can Cade stop his playboy partying ways and give Francesca what she needs in a man? This story will leave you wanting more so be prepared to buy Entangled souls! A must read!
