The book was set at Christmas time and since I love books set at that time of year I thought it would be a book I would enjoy. The book didn't disappoint. From the first page to the the last, my attention was captured and I didn't want to put it down. There was lots of conflict - both emotional and sexual - along with some laughter, romance and even some tears. The characters of Roman and April were easy to connect with and feel like they were your friends as you were absorbed by the story. The push and pull of their attraction was always there from one or the other and sometimes from both. The descriptions of the beach, wedding by the pool and even the blizzard in New York were so vivid you could picture yourself a part of the scene. There was the requisite happily ever after that took a lot of twists and turns to get to that it felt like it would never happen. Engman is a new author to me. This book was the type of love story I like to read and look forward to reading other books by her in the future, hoping they will be just as good.
Favorite Quote: With soft moonlight overhead, the feel of tranquil waters at her feet, and the sounds of music and guests ringing in the New Year, she guessed any woman would get swept away-especially when someone like Roman Vasquez was kissing them like there was no tomorrow.
