I'm sure there are more scholarly works out there, however, for those interested in the Spanish American War from the viewpoint of the Navy then this book will suffice. Having said that, I thoroughly enjoyed the book. It was easy to read, had just enough detail to hold my interest, and overall was an interesting book. It's scope is limited to the two battles fought...Manila Bay, Philippines and Santiago, Cuba. There are some details on the causes of the War and some of the ramifications that resulted with the USA victory. I rated the book 5* because I wanted a book about the two naval battles that gave me the basics of what happened. This book fit the bill to a "T".Was this review helpful?
