Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Carlee Hallman
Various children wait patiently in line at the lunch room, say "please" and "thank you" to the lunch server, and talk quietly. Morgan chews with her mouth closed, Lucy helps a friend clean up a spill, and Timothy and Sasha "put their milk cartons in the recycling bin." Each action is followed by the refrain in bold print: "He/She/They are using good manners." The computer-generated colored pictures show cheerful children with large heads. The book concludes: "Using good manners shows respect to other students and the school staff. Good manners make it possible for everyone to enjoy lunch." "Fun Facts" appear in colored balls on a page at the end. One says: "In Spain, many kids go home for lunch instead of eating at school." A list of other books to read, websites, and an index are included. This is one of the "Way to Be! Manners" series. Teachers and parents may enjoy using this book to teach manners.
