Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Carlee Hallman
Various children practice good manners on the school bus by being on time, saying "Good Morning" to the bus driver, talking quietly, and waiting patiently for the person ahead to sit down. Mia and Karin keep their feet and book bags out of the aisle. Tyrell and Sarah are nice to younger kids and do not tease them. Josh waits his turn to get off. Each action is followed by the refrain in bold print: "He/She/They are using good manners." The book concludes: "Good manners make a nice, safe ride for everyone." Computer-generated colored pictures show cheerful children with large heads. A page of "Fun Facts" in colored balls appears at the end. One says: "In some countries, families must pay for their children to ride the school bus." A list of other books to read, websites, and an index are included. This is one of the "Way to Be! Manners" series. Parents and teachers may enjoy using this book to teach manners. Reviewer: Carlee Hallman
