    Thanks to Robin!

I say thanks to my friend because had it not been for her buying me this book and deciding we would read it as a "club" book, I would never have been inspired by what I read in the pages.

I had picked this book up a couple of times at the book store, it is visually appealing, but after reading the cover I felt that it wasn't something I would find interesting. (I forgot that I had picked it up previously.) So, she handed me the copy she bought for me, I smiled and said, "Thank you so much!" but I was inwardly already yawning. Being the good friend I am, however, I dove in because I knew we were going to talk about it the next time we met. I'm so glad I kept reading!!!!

It is a book about spiritual growth toward Jesus. It's not about discovering your gifts so that you can evangelize more effectively. It's not about saying no to sin and putting the past behind. It's not about embracing your God-given future and purpose. Yes, all those things matter as far as they are on our journey to unity with the Father, but this book is about the journey.

The author does well in connecting the reader to where he might have been in his spiritual life but also to where the reader might currently be, and what he can expect to find in the future if he continues passing through the mansions culminating in a life of unity with Christ.

It is well organized and easy enough to read even if the information is quite thorough and sometimes deep.

It calls the seeker to keep seeking and the reader to keep reading. It compels the pray-er to keep praying and the talker to keep quiet, listening for and ausculting the movements of the Divine.

I highly recommend to anyone looking to go deeper in their life with Christ. Thanks Robin!

    Excellent Book!

"Mansions of the Heart" is very clearly written and easy to follow. This is not always true of books dealing with the deep subject of knowing God more personally and deeply.

The author is transparent about his own life and about what he learned and how he learned it. He offers great clarity and helpful insights. He is also a thoroughly biblical Christian, integrating ancient Christian insights from other Christian traditions into today's Protestant world.

I am deeply thankful for this book.
