A couple of months ago, I lost a prayerbook I had owned for years. It was written in 1925 and I received it from my grandmother. I loved it for the myriad of traditional prayers and devotions it contained. When I lost it, I was, needles to say, devastated. However, I eventually found 'The Manual of Prayers,' and I must say, I never expected it to be so good! It is the best modern replacement I ever could have found for my old prayer book. It has only one short coming: It does not contain the order of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass. Other than that, it is absolutely wonderful. NOTE: Non-Catholics beware, this is NOT your kind of prayer book. If the idea of saints, Sacraments, Purgatory, or anything decidedly Catholic disturbs you, this book will be a profound disappointment, only because it is so profoundly faithful to Catholicism.
