Publishers Weekly
Ashley's steamy third Highland Pleasures novel (after 2010's Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage) matches up widow Ainsley Douglas, an attendant to Queen Victoria who lives her life in gray to match the queen's perpetual mourning, and horse-mad widower Lord Cameron Mackenzie, scarred emotionally and physically by his insane wife. The queen sends Ainsley to the duke of Kilmorgan's estate to retrieve damaging letters being used for blackmail. There Ainsley encounters Lord Cameron, the duke's brother, with whom she shared an attraction years before. As they travel from the Highlands to the French Riviera, Ainsley and Cameron find that mutual passion softens his burdens. While the story offers no surprises, readers will love Ainsley, a strong, independent, cake-loving character who takes the time to consider her options rather than just throwing caution to the wind and following Cameron when he arrogantly beckons. Library Journal
The first time Cameron Mackenzie found Ainsley Douglas in his bedroom, she was stealing a necklace; the next time, six years later, she was on a mission to retrieve incriminating letters for the Queen. Both times, she avoided seduction, but Cam is not about to let the lovely widow escape again as the Mackenzie black sheep carefully sets out to claim his prize. Deceit, blackmail, and subterfuge keep the tension high as Cam and Ainsley thrust and parry in this steamy, compelling Victorian. VERDICT Passionate, well-drawn characters, breathless romance, and a memorable love story will leave readers checking out the earlier books in the series and anxiously awaiting the last in the quartet, The Duke's Perfect Wife. Ashley (Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage) lives in the Southwest.

The Many Sins of Lord Cameron (Highland Pleasures Series #3) 4.4 out of 5 based on 0 ratings. 116 reviews.

Renowned rake Lord Cameron Mackenzie loves his son Daniel and his horse Jasmine. His myriad of mistresses feels good about him as he treats them well. The only setback in his womanizing lifestyle was six years ago when he caught Ainsley Douglas in his boudoir and though the kiss was earth shattering she refused to cheat on her much older husband John with him. He did not push a tryst between them, but now learns she is a widow; so all bets are off. He catches her in snoop mode as he did six years ago and this time he goes all out to seduce her. Ainsley has never forgotten the spark that threatened to engulf her the last time they met. However, she is a on a mission for Queen Victoria to obtain some potentially scandalous letters so she has no time for the sinful Lord Cameron even knowing she will regret it later. She pretends to accept Cam's seduction so she can accomplish her task, but love enters the equation. The third Highland Pleasures Mackenzie brothers' Victorian romance (see Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie and Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage) is a wonderful somewhat zany tale as the rake catches the heroine in his bedroom for the second time. The lead couple is a delightful pairing as he has baggage while her love for him is not quite the remedy to end his turmoil, but her caring with her heart for his son and his horse clinches the sure bet of their love leading to much more between them. Fans will enjoy the romance between the sinner and his angel. Harriet Klausner

I fell in love with the wild and tortured and oh-so-sexy Mackenzie brothers after reading the second book in the series, Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage. I quickly devoured The Many Sins of Lord Cameron once I got my hands on a copy. As soon as I started reading I was reminded once again that Ms. Ashley can pen a damn excellent romance. A hero to die for? Check. A strong heroine who can hold her own? Check. A wonderful cast of secondary characters? Check. A heart-melting story that will make you happily sigh, laugh and cry? Check. A book you won't want to end because you'll have to say good-bye to the characters you've grown to love until the next book? Check. Yup, as expected (and I had high expectations), this novel is one of the best romances I've read this year. Cameron is the most tortured and scarred hero I've read in a while and is pretty much the opposite of fun-loving, laughing Mac from Lady Isabella. As you learn more about his past and his deranged first wife, which was painful to read, you come to understand why he is the way he is. Ainsley herself has her own painful past and after her much older husband dies she went to work for Queen Victoria. She hides herself in drab gray clothing but she is a lot more than what her mouse-ish façade lets on. She is strong yet gentle and can stand on her own not just with Cam but also with the wild and eccentric Mackenzie family. She may be my favorite heroine in the series yet. These two had chemistry crackling from chapter one and a combination of their mutual desire, lust and genuine love makes this novel a steamy (you're going to want to turn up the fan for this one) yet surprisingly sweet romance. Some of favorite scenes, though, were ones with Cam's son Daniel. He is a bit wild, having grown up with the Mackenzie brothers and often gets into scrapes. But Daniel is growing up fast. There was this scene towards the end when Daniel and Cam really talk pretty much for the first time. Cam realizes that his son, despite everything that happened in the past and being raised by him and his brothers, is okay and turning out to be quite the strong, confident young man with a good head on his shoulders. This scene made me cry and it's not very often (hardly ever) a romance novel can do that to me. Besides Daniel, the whole Mackenzie clan is back and growing. There was also a scene between Hart and Eleanor, whose book is the next in the series, that just about killed me because I have to wait another year for it to come out. The Many Sins of Lord Cameron is another winner from Jennifer Ashley. It's well-written with interesting, multi-dimensional characters that you won't soon forget. It's romantic and heartfelt, steamy and sexy with just the right amount of humor. I absolutely love this book and I cannot get enough of the Mackenzies! I highly recommend you pick up this novel next week Tuesday (August 2nd) when it comes out in stores.

I give Cam and Ainsley's story 4 stars - Book #3. It's another great book in the continuing Mackenzie series by Jennifer Ashley and I'm glad Cam was given such a great love interest. Ainsley is no shrinking violet and has a few interesting secrets in her closet too. Cameron was attracted to her 6 years ago but could not "seal the deal" and now Ainsley is a widow and just happens to be sneeking about his bedchamber once again. What ever is the confonded woman up to this time? Well whatever it is he's determined to finally have her and does everthing in his wicked power to get her to agree to an affair with him; but fate has a different ending in mind for this couple. As in all the Mackenzie stories there is plenty of titillting scenes including an erotic masquerade party at a neighboring estate and a little game Cam likes to play whenever he corners Ainsley alone. There is also a great scene where Ainsley decides to be a bit wicked herself and turns the tables on him in a rather public place. We still get some interaction with characters from the previous books (Ian, Beth, Mac, Issabella and Hart) and we get some new ones as well; including a glips at Harts love interest Lady Eleanor Ramsay. There is a teaser of a scene with a chance encounter between Eleanor and Hart that just makes me want more. I'm so glad I will get to start Hart's book "The Duke's Perfect Wife" tonight! I've enjoyed all the books in the Mackenzie series and am glad there will be several more to come later on down the line. I do suggest that you read the books in order to get the best experience from them. Here are the order of the books so far Book #1 - "The Madness of Lord Ian Mackenzie" (Ian and Beth's story - I give it 5 Stars) Book #2 - Lady Isabella's Scandalous Marriage ("Mac" and Isabella's story - I give it 4.5 Stars) Book #3 - The Many Sins of Lord Cameron ("Cam" and Ainsley's story - I give it ) Book #4 - The Duke's Perfect Wife (I am excited to finally dig into Harts sorted past and learn all his secrets).

Another author I've recently discovered. I love Scottish historicals as it it, but this one above and beyond. The characters are real and well written, the story line kept me going, turning each page, wanting to know more. I shall be reading the next in the series and the next, and the next...oh and the covers are to die for!

Jennifer invites you into the world of the Mackenzie family and you find that you don't want to leave. I am truly enjoying this series and have added it to my to be read again and again collection. The only problem is the next book is not out until April of next year.

Nothing better than a man who loses love from the wrong person but finds it again in the right person who turns out to be Mrs. Ainsley Douglas....If you haven't fallen in love with a Mackenzie by this 3rd installment by Jennifer Ashley, you will after reading this

I liked Cameron in books 1 and 2. I gave it 4 stars. This book felt a bit rushed and details were glossed over. Really love the series. Ian and Beth is my favorite so far. Looking forward to Hart and Eleanor in book 4.

This book was so good! I can't think of one complaint - Cam and Ainsley's story was as amazing as the first books in the series, and I loved every second of it. The heroine, Ainsley, is a compassionate and strong woman who's been through quite a bit in her life. She is perceptive and opinionated and never shies or hides her feelings for Cameron in front of him, or to herself. She is loyal and wins over everyone who comes her way. Cameron is a sexy, kind person wrapped in a harsh exterior and a mask of indifference. He's a wonderfully scarred man, both inside and outside (and girls - we all know how much we love emotionally scarred men), and there is something so endearing in seeing a man so big and strong feel fear like that. The deal with his wife is revolting. It's amazing a cute person such as Daniel can come from the woman. Speaking of it... Daniel is Cameron's son and I enjoyed seeing this child grow. He's definitely turning into a Mackenzie hunk, and he might be one of the smartest Mackenzie's out there! He's got wisdom beyond his years, and I can't wait for his story, The Wicked Deeds of Daniel Mackenzie. I simply adore Jennifer Ashley's characters. They are always so real, so human, and you can't help but get attached to them and experience all their feelings. I just love it when it comes to a point where I pray they'll be together and find happiness, as if they're real people, and I always experience these feelings with Ashley's books. The romance in the book is impeccable. It's believable, builds over time and is just so sweet it hurts. They just fit together so perfectly!! There is no big anguish this book, no bad/super villain towering over our characters and making their life miserable - just two people who find each other and are getting a second chance at love and happiness, and their sweet and wonderful story. If you have not yet tried of one of Jennifer Ashley's books, you ought to do so right away, especially if you like historical romances and delicious men in kilts...
