Great reference for runners with no marathon experience.

I am training for my first marathon. This book is giving me some insight on how to train, how not to train, mental preparedness as well as training schedules. I would recommend it for for someone thinking about or planning their first marathon or someone that has done it before and struggled, but looking for ways to do better.

    I Also Recommend:

Great book for the novice marathon runner or veteran marathon runner.

This book in a comprehensive manual for anyone running a marathon, whether it is your first or 50th. It is packed full of practical information that will keep you on track during your training process while avoiding being hurt. his book covers all aspects of running a marathon and is a great reference guide even for the veteran marathon runner who may have developed some bad habits along the way. It is a permanent part of my library that I refer to almost daily as I begin training for my first marathon. Jeff Galloway not only give you expert training advice but also encourages you along the way and keeps you on track so that you can reach your goal whether it is to finish a marathon or run your personal best time.
