Editorial Reviews

Publishers Weekly
Those who loved the movie will clamor for March of the Penguins based on the film by Luc Jacquet, text by Jordan Roberts, photos by Jerome Maison. Inset photos chronicle penguins, sliding on their bellies or diving from ocean to land, while a full-spread image shows the dramatic parade of penguins at the film's core. The passing of the egg from one parent to the other is here, the predators are absent; this will likely send families right back to the newly released DVD. Copyright 2006 Reed Business Information.
Children's Literature - Jean Boreen
For those who enjoyed the movie of the same name, this book will give them the highlights whenever they want. Marketed as "The Official Children's Companion to the Major Motion Picture," this text provides much of the basic narration voiced by film star Morgan Freeman in the movie. The amazing photographs chosen for the book provide the same detail and beauty found in the images found in the film; they also have the same vivid color that so delighted audiences watching the movie. It is also worthwhile noting that the picture book has none of the sporadic violence/despair found in the movie (the death of one of the female penguins when she is hunting in the waters off the coast, the death of a small number of the baby penguins). This is a must-have for those who loved the movie and want to relive its gentle charm without buying the DVD.
