POWERFUL -An Epic Account of 80's NY

Very Powerful, moving me to tears. A wonderful account of New York City in the 80's. Striking atmospherics with great characters. An epic. Loved it.

    AIDS in New York City

I have been fascinated with the AIDS crisis in New York City in the nineteen eighties. In 'The March' and also in 'Journal of the Plaque Years', Walter Hollqnd provides an expert witness. He was a gay young man with many friends, many with AIDS, in that decade. He is an expert witness, provides a comprehensive look. What affected me was the unmetabolized accuracy of experience. It left me reacting based upon the reality displayed. It is a history documentation but also an unblinking look by one who survives.

Strong depiction of a painful and beautiful historical moment

Walter Holland's historical novel of 1980s New York captures the end of gay liberation's heady honeymoon and the beginning of the age of AIDS with documentary precision and emotional honesty. Highly recommended!

Reliving the years of the March

Walter Holland's compelling account of life during these agonizing years and the feelings experienced by these friends elicited exceedingly vivid memories of personal loss. I highly recommend it to both the older and younger generations.
