Marco Polo, born September 15, 1254 ¿ January 9, 1324, is famous for his travels through Asia, where he served in the court of China¿s great Mongol emperor Kublai Khan. Marco was one of the first Europeans to travel into Mongolia and China. By writing a book of his discoveries and adventures, Marco offered Europe its first look at eastern cultures and traditions. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Marco Polo by Janis Herbert clarifies the life travels of Marco Polo thoroughly. This is a short easy read and describes Macro Polo¿s travels to China to meet the court of Kublai Khan. This book also does a great job of describing Marco Polo¿s encounters with the world outside of Venice. Not only is there writing but pictures are displayed to give you a real feel of what Marco Polo was seeing on his adventures. I would recommend this book for home schooled children and children having to write research papers on Marco Polo. Janis Herbert does a great job of completing her purpose. She completes her purpose by staying on topic and never rambling. She also gives you sum up of the history of all the places Marco Polo visited. This helps you learn Marco Polo¿s travels as well as the history of some foreign countries. This book is ok and not the best, but it is educational for anyone who reads it.Was this review helpful?
