Overview

Mardi Gras! Many children know of Mardi Gras, but do they know about Mardi Gras? It is not just watching parades and wearing costumes, but knowing the history, traditions, and folklore that make up this unique holiday.

A Mardi Gras Dictionary was specifically created and designed for children to become better informed about Mardi Gras. However, the interest level is for readers of all ages. This carnival compendium presents fifty-three Mardi Gras words in alphabetical order. Each word is respelled for pronunciation and a pronunciation guide is provided. The lively, full-color illustrations by Patrick Soper complement the text.

A Mardi Gras Dictionary is a must for children and adults who want to discover and learn about the magic around the breathtaking pageantry known as Mardi Gras. It's all here from A to Z.

Explains in dictionary format the history and traditions of the pre-Lenten celebration in Louisiana.
