Marian Remembers Teddi

All Music Guide - Ken Dryden
Teddi King is a fine vocalist who has been somewhat overlooked since her premature death in 1977, at the age of only 46. Her emotional rendition of "Little Girl Blue" is poignant, enriched by her touching vibrato. King's playfulness is apparent in "You Turned the Tables on Me" and the jaunty "It Could Happen to You." But it is her swinging finale of Wilder's "While You're Young" though McPartland's sensitive introduction is briefly overwhelmed with applause as the audience recognizes the song that should leave King fans wanting more, while new fans will join the hunt for other releases by the late vocalist.
