    everything you need to know

I have kept a 180 gallon tank with 20 large fish going for 4 years based on the advice of this book alone. My fish are all healthy because I have the correct combo of fish, due to this book. This is very hard to do it the salt water world. It tells you how hearty a fish is, what size tank it needs, what it eats, how aggressive it is, etc. etc. This is the bible of the marine world!

    Excellent guide, highly recommended

I don't know what the previous reviewer was talking about. This book has magnificent photos. A well written book that gives useful information about what species go together. Reef compatability is a great fact that is included about each fish. This book actually gives insightful information, rather than the picture books by axelrod. Excellent material and photos!!

Pictures, descriptions, and info, this book has it all!

I have never seen a better general species book whether it be fresh or marine. This book has beautiful pictures and also great descriptions on how large the tank should be, food, hardyness, etc for the fish. Don't pass this book up!

    Great Aquarium Guide

Excellent book. Very detailed and useful. I have never seen a more comprehensive guide to all the Marine fishes. The aquarium suitability, reef compatibility and the captive care are very valuable.

    Great reference book

This book is great for cross referencing which fish are compatible with your tank. I take it with me every time I go out to purchase more fish.

    Disappointing photographs

Although the collection of fish presented was very extensive, the quality of the photographs was quite poor. If visual representation is a vital factor for you, I would not recommend this book.
