Francine Rivers
From 1976 to 1985, Francine Rivers had a successful writing career in the general market, and her books were awarded or nominated for numerous awards and prizes. Although raised in a religious home, Francine did not truly encounter Christ until later in life, when she was already a wife, mother of three, and an established romance novelist. Shortly after becoming a born-again Christian in 1986, Francine wrote Redeeming Love as her statement of faith.

    Great Works

I have a voracious appetite for books. My interest in them ranges from anything from Canterbury Tales to Pride and Prejudice, from Philippa Gregory to V.C. Andrews to Sidney Sheldon . I have even read a few good romance and urban romance novels by Virginia Henley, Trista Russell, and Noire. A few years ago a cousin of mine recommended that I read A Voice in the Wind by Francine Rivers. I was familiar with her work, having previously read The Scarlett Thread 'another fine book by the lady'. Anyway, the next day, I went out and bought the book. From the moment I picked it up, I could not put it down. Never have you read, a book that so transports you to the time and place in which it is written or that is so alive and vivid and the characters so real that you feel you know them. I finished this book in a day and a half and the next day I went out and got the second part. When I finished that book, I was so disappointed. Not because it was a bad story but because it had ended. I wanted it to go on. Finally, I bought the last book, and I absolutely fell in love with the character Theophilius. Since getting these books I have read them time and time again, as well as added her other books to my collection. Simply put, I love them. Mrs Rivers is a gifted Christian writer with a unique talent of being able to write a book about God's love without neither watering it down nor making the reader feel condemned. And, at the same time you learn so much from them historically and spiritually. There is action and adventure yet no senseless violence, and it is romantic enough to enthrall the reader without the use of smut or too much unneeded description and imagery. Mrs Rivers is truly a great writer who produces great works. Hopefully, there will be many more to come.

    Great Christian Fiction

Thess books are great because they are fiction, but based on Biblical truths. The story is a must read for anyone wanting to understand the persecution of Christians and the faith in Christ that guided their life.

    A Work of Art

I have just finished a Voice in the Wind and am amazed. I had already read Redeeming Love by this author and read A Voice in the Wind by a friend's suggestion. As always, amazing! The ending had me almost in tears, and I can't wait to get the next one!!! Rivers writes in an engaging and expressive style while not spending to long on dreary descriptions and yet giving just enough that you feel you are there in the story. Her insight into characters gives you an insight into yourself and they seem to speak not to just the characters in the story but to you yourself the reader. A thrilling and engaging work, Bravo!

I love this series.  I discovered Francine Rivers Mark of the Lion Trilogy at the perfect time in my life.
The character, Hadassah, made a lasting and enduring mark on my life.  I am so thankful for this series and the hard work the author put
into the historical detail and Christian characters.  God worked mightily in my life through this series, and I will be forever thankful that Francine Rivers
wrote this series.  God has used this work to make a difference in my life for all time.  I recommend it to anyone who is looking for a good book about
    a wonderful, Christian fictional character.

    Moving, memorable, epic.

My family and I read these books years ago and talked about them all the time and still do. The books that Francine Rivers writes are life changers. I have been changed from her body of work. She is one of my favorite authors. I just wish there were more books from her. Great great author. Kudos.

Highly Recommended--you must check it out!

Mark of the Lion is a 3 book trilogy and is probably the best historical, bible novel that I have ever read. It is very readable and has held my interest all the way through. If you love the Bible, you will love this story.

    Awesome read!

These books are wonderfull! I love books set in the ancient world, and these books bring that world to life! They also show how that God turns bad circumstances into good! He is always there, looking out for us. The author also shows us Rome in all of its awfull opulence. The horror of the games. The loose morals, the complete disregard for life. Then she shows us the christians and their love of life. Their quiet influence. How they began to change the world. How they show Gods love through the simple things they do. I cant say enough about these books. I love them!

    AMAZING!

I absolutely loved this series! God truly spoke to me through these books. I have been a Christian my whole life, but I feel like God has revealed Himself to me in a new way. We don't always understand why things happen the way they do, but knowing all things work together for good for those who love Him, gives a peace that passes all understanding. This series shows that in a way that touches every emotion. Not only could I feel Gods love, but it helped me to love those who have come against me recently. I could read this over and over again. I never wanted to stop reading!
