I really loved this book from the beginning to the end

In Marked, Soul Guardians Book One by Kim Richardson, Kara Nightingale is chosen to be part of the legion of angels who are chosen to become guardian angels, or soul savers. After sixteen-year-old Kara is hit by a bus, her soul is saved, and she becomes one of the chosen: a guardian angel for others whose lives suddenly ended as tragically as hers did. The story follows Kara and her guardian angel keeper, petty officer David, as they attempt to save souls from the demons and as they try to keep the demons at bay. At the same time, they must guard their own angel life force from the demons. Kara and David's soul saving assignments become much more difficult when they discover that the demons are actually after Kara and that she has been "marked." The story continues with Kara being forced to prove she is innocent of being a traitor. She is sent on a life changing special assignment, or "Life Quest," that will change life as she knows it forever.

I really loved this book from the beginning to the end, and I can't wait to read the sequel, Book Two. I really enjoyed how Kim Richardson's story takes unexpected twists and turns at almost every angle and keeps the reader riveted for more. This book is a definite page turner, and I would recommend it for anyone who loves and believes in the supernatural, angels and demons, and reincarnation.

Fantastic!

The first chapter got me hooked. I wanted to know more about Kara. Kim creates a world I would love to be in, a world full of angels. Kara is a rookie who learns the ropes through David, her mentor. David is so much fun to be around; it's hard for Kara not to have these feelings toward him. Their task is to save a person's life, but they find themselves fighting demons instead, and unable to fulfill their assignment successfully. Later, they found out that Kara has been marked from both sides. The twist and turns of the story captivated me that I couldn't put the book down. The ending was unique and different. I was pleasantly surprised. I hope there will be a book two because I enjoyed the chemistry between the two main characters. This well-written, entertaining, original story was so much fun to read, I would recommend it to all readers.

Wonderful! Couldn't put it down!

Loved it! I was drawn into the story, and couldn't put it down. I was looking for somethin different, and i got it. It's a very captivating book that anyone at any age can appreciate.

Fantastic story!!!

I downloaded this book because I loved the cover, and the description intrigued me. What a fantastic and very original story. Who knew in the afterlife monkeys operated the elevators! Kara is a wonderful heroine that everyone will love. The story is beautifully written and action packed. A fast paced adventure of good versus evil. You won't be disappointed.

Highly Recommended - you must check it out!!

This is possibly the hardest review I've had to write. Not because the book was bad, in fact I was rather impressed by it. No, the reason that it's been hard to review is that it's closest book I've come to on this blog that could be classed as "chick-lit". It's unfamiliar territory for me.

But don't let this stop you from reading it! The majority of my blog's readers are male, but I would still say that they should consider this book. Especially if they are looking for a light, easy read.

But it doesn't matter how hard I found it to write the review, what matter is the book itself. I really did enjoy it, and the thing that stood out most was the afterlife. Apart from the fact that it was staffed by various primates, it was such an imaginative place that was really uplifting to read about. (And kind of made me jealous that I wasn't there...). It's interesting to think of heaven as a kind of office (albeit an odd office) where angels administer the world's affairs. I really enjoyed the scenes set in this Angel-Office, called Horizon, although it was interesting to note that while it was referred to by the names of various paradises - Heaven was not one of them.

With all books there a few things that I think could have been done differently, and I would say that I thought the beginning is a little too fast. The main character dies straight away, which is fine - the book is about her death, not her life - but then gets to work as a GA almost immediately. I felt that she should have had training before going out on a mission.

But Overall I found the book to be an enjoyable read, an easy read - it wasn't hard to follow, and a unique read. The plot, which I haven't spoken about much here, for fear of revealing too much, was interesting, and well-written. In an recent interview to promote my blog I stated that the best books are the ones that I'm disappointed to finish reading, and this one of those. While it's not available on B&N, the price of the eBook on amazon is currently £0.70/$1.14 (UK/US), and to be frank, I think that it's worth more than that. Actually, despite finding eBooks difficult to read, and despite having a paperback version, I payed the 70 pence for the kindle thing because I think the book is more than worth that. I find that I'm quite likely to read it again, and that I look forwards to the sequel.

This book is a incredible read. It got me hooked on the first page. I love the whole idea of souls and reincarnation and stuff. You enjoy the amazing world they live in and enjoy the main character. This is one of my fav! :) i reccomend this to anybody who likes a good fantasy/adventure.

Brilliant, original, and very entertaining!

Kim Richardson's imagination blew me away. Marked - is a `rollercoaster ride' of a book - It's bizarre and weird, funny and clever. This is an inventive, witty, page turner of a book. With some great characters and set pieces. I can't recommend it enough.

You HAVE to get this book!

Caution

Enjoyed the book as fantasy fiction. As an older person, I could keep the fantasy in check. I worry that the reincarnation theme might be misleading to young people. Christian parents beware. If you object to your children reading Harry Potter, you will object to this.

Simply splendid!

Overall, Marked: Soul Guardians did captivate me with its humor and swagger. Though I wasn¿t impressed with some factors of the story, I would never hesitate to read the sequels because honestly, at the end of the day, I still want to follow Kara and David in the ride full of mystery and thrill. And last but not least, the spectacular ending had made me to reflect on my own déjà vu moments, which is quite fascinating matter-of-factly.

I just finished this book and I loved it. I've never read anything like it. It was amazing. A real page turner, and so original. I do hope there is a sequel!

Have not finished it but it is awsome

Love it everybody should read it!trying to finish it and do not want to put it down right now.i relly like the very first part of the book the most so everybody should read the book and i am ten and and i like the book better then other books in the world so read it.

I LOVE EVERYTHING!

It makes me happy when I find that there are actual GOOD free books. Marked is a little bit cheesy when Kara swoons over David, but overall it's like Alyson Noel's Radiance but way better. I love this book already, and I just started. Four for you, Kim!
