Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Robin Lundgren
This book for new readers, based on the upcoming movie Marley & Me, is part of the "Marley & Me" series. Lovable Labrador Marley brings a lot of good-natured chaos into the lives of owners John and Jenny, getting into all kinds of mischief. But when a neighbor is mugged, Marley proves to be a good watchdog, holding the thief at bay until the police arrive. While the language is appropriate for the early reader and sentences are simple, some of the content might be a bit mature for the younger early reader. The book is illustrated with photo stills from the movie, starring Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson. Kids will likely enjoy adorable close-ups of Marley and pictures of him getting out of police car. However, many of the pictures depicting the aftermath of the mugging may be too realistic for young children and therefore somewhat disturbing. Reviewer: Robin Lundgren

Marley and Me- what a fun book

Marley and Me was a wonderful starter reader for my daughter. She has been having trouble with her reading and this book she was able read through without much help from an adult. This boosted her confidence tremendously!!!!

    Not for Me

Although I like a good heart-warming story as well as (or better than) the next person, I'd not have even been back to get the puppy after seeing the father in action. I had to read the book for my book club or I'd not have gone on after those idiots put up with the first few "incidents." Even I cried at the end, but I cry over TV commercials. For extreme animal lovers only.

Donate a book to a child

I actually didn't read this book I donated it to Barnes and Noble to give to a child for the holiday.
I'm a pet lover so that is why I chose this book for a child.
I read the book Dewey and loved it so I'm sure this book Marley and Me would also be a sweet story.
