Book 1 in the series Men of August

Marly's love for Cade has spanned her teenage years, and survived strong and intact into womanhood. Her fantasies and daydreams have sustained her, but she's no longer content with merely imagining the touch of his hands, the taste of his kiss. It's time to seduce the tough, sexy cowboy.

She's heard the rumors for years, the tales of his sexual preferences. She's prepared herself to accept his desires. Prepared her body for his touch. But she wasn't prepared for the choice to come...

Cade's dark desires, his sexual excesses are based in the past. In a time when pain, shame, and blood stains his very soul. He carries a secret shared only with his brothers. A secret that has scarred the bond, the ability to be a brother or to accept the love of the men he was raised with. He knows the only way to prove his loyalty, his love for those brothers and Marly will be the key.

She has a choice. She can surrender to Cade's needs, his soul deep desires, or she can walk away. A choice only Marly can make. A choice that will change her life forever.

    Research before you read

In this day and age every author has a web page. If you purchaes a book before doing your research, then it's no one's fault but your own if you don't like or didn't expect the content. I thoroughly enjoy Lora Leigh's books. The August series is one of my favorites along with their Nauti cousins in KY. She boldly dared to go where others considered taboo. I applaude her for the wonderful books she writes.

    Poor Marly!

For Marly to be able to have the man she loves, she has to be willing to have his brothers as well! It was hard for me to be able to wrap my brain around this story. I love Lora Leigh, she is one of my favorite authors! I knew what I was getting into with her as the writer. I just had problems with Cade treating the woman he's suppost to love this way, after the sexual abuse he suffered. And why did Cade ask Marly to be with another woman? That doesn't have anything to do with his brothers!

    A reviewer

This was supposed to be erotic romance. There was nothing romantic about his book. Cade treated Marly as a peice of meat, not as someone he supposedly loved. I am a Lora Leigh fan so I knew what I was getting into, but this could have been a little more convincing.

    Lora Leigh does it again!

I love all Lora Leigh's novels and this is no different. People just need to research the author before buying. Leigh is not for the faint of heart or overly sensitive. If you are into erotic romance, she is the one to read!

    great plot TERRIBLE editing

i just finished this book..it was really good. i loved the characters..marly was spunky and would not be a pushover and cade was really sexy but it seemed unfinished..almost like the editors sent the wrong draft of the book to the publishers. i mean it doesn't matter how great a book is but if you're trying to figure out what the author is trying to say it sucks you out of the story. i have basic editing skills (i.e. i didn't major in editing in college and am not an editor myself) and i could have done a better job with the flow of the story. i also didn't like how lora used the characters names so much. i mean its good to know whos saying what to whom but it seemed like every single line said to marly had her name it or every single line said to cade had his name in it. yea people talk like that every once in a while for emphasis but not EVERY TIME they say something to someone. it was annoying. and i got to the point where i was editing in my head as i was reading, which i shouldn't have to do. so yea this is probably my last lora leigh book. its a shame bc her stories are good but this is the second one i've read from her and have been too distracted by her writing style/mistakes to fully enjoy the book.

    The August men are yummy!

The August men's stories continues with both Brock and Sams stories. And they are just as good as Cades is. I couldn't put either of them down. Look for them and any story Lora Leigh writes. She is an excellent writer if you like erotica.

Intriguing beginning to a new series

This is the first book in a series on the August Brothers. This book is intensely erotic, with a mystery thrown in as well. Marly has come home to stake her claim on Cade August. At the same secrets from the past have come back to haunt them. Because of these secrets Cade and his brothers live their lives by their own rules. Marly must make the choice to be a part of this family or let go of her love for Cade forever. This book is very hot and the emotions of the characters will leave you breathless for more. This book is truly a beginning of a wonderful series and you will want to pick up the other books in the Augsut series as soon as you finish this one.

    Yummy!

The August brothers are hot and kinky but have a deep, painful secret they keep hidden, even from Marly, who was practically raised by their family. While Cade, Sam, and Brock love Marly, there is a special connection between her and Cade. The only problem the August brothers have is trying to control the demons that emerged from their secrets. Kinky and hot BDSM with suspense. 545 B&N pages.

    could have been worse

The book had some good meat on the bones but almost too much. The two main characters were not bad, however, the author tried to do to many characters with internal dialogue that seemed unnecessary. the book was long enough for the reader to have gotten to know the players a bit more considering the intimate acts they were to play on each other. It's one thing to be into submission and dominance but another to be roughly USED. This book was a little too close to the male characters using the girl rather then it being in a mutual, romantic BDSM.

    Too dirty

This book made me feel dirty. Almost like sleeping with a family member. Too raw and sexual. I like romance not void sex. Not a book for me.

Author: Lora Leigh Series: Men of August Star Rating out for 5 s

    Author: Lora Leigh
    Series: Men of August
Star Rating out for 5 stars: Four stars

Let me first off state, IF YOU ARE NOT INTO M/M/M/F M/M/F DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT READ THIS BOOK.

Okay now that I go that out of the way. I enjoyed this book. Not as good as the Nauti Boy Series, but I still liked it. Yes this series did come out prior to Nauti Boys.

The story revolves around Marley who as a child was molested and her mom put her in a place that she thought was safe with the August brother's in Texas. Her mother then started to go on the run trying to draw out the attacker away from Marly. The story picks up with Marly on break from college and going to her "Grampa Joe's" funeral. Mind you she is not related to the August brother's they just raised her from a child. Throughout the book we see a relationship build between Cade and Marly. Behind that is someone is stalking Marly and they all try to find out who this someone is.

Marly is still a bit young and naive but knows what she wants. She has no problem pushing boundaries with Cade. Eventually all the pent up lust and frustration builds and things go crazy. She knows what he wants and she thought she was willing to give it to him....

Cade a man with a dominate alpha male personality tries his best to stay away from Marly as much as he can but it's hard for him. He has such a strong personality that he buts heads with everyone around him especially when Marly is around.

I don't want to give too much away but besides the sex and trust me it's really more towards the end. Unlike most Lora Leigh books it does not completely dominate it. Yes there is a lot of teasing and build up to the actual main parts. And trust me if you like the M/M/F M/M/M/F IT GETS HOT...

    Happy reading!
