Collaboration enhances creativity! How else would the human race continue to propagate itself? Why, even Dolly the sheep (of the Clan MacClone) is the product of collaborative scientific effort! Well, we are taking no credit for Dolly¿s creation. Having written nine historical romances under the pseudonym of May McGoldrick, though, we decided to write a book that draws on our own personal and professional relationship¿and on the relationships of other collaborative teams¿and provides strategies that will lead any writer to success. Part relationship book and part writing `how-to¿ book, MARRIAGE OF MINDS provides survival techniques for working with one¿s significant other, in addition to presenting a guide for creating successful fiction...whether one is writing alone or with a partner. Some of topics included in MARRIAGE OF MINDS are: · Taking inventory of your own talents. · Finding the `write¿ partner to complement your strengths. · Ways to use the Internet and e-mail for whole new methods for collaboration. · Developing your skills in communication and the art of compromise. · Trading in the ¿Me¿ for the ¿We¿ mentality! · Developing strategies for the business aspects of the writing partnership, including contracts and agreements. · Establishing clear goals and expectations regarding who will do what, and when it will get done. · How to write with a partner. · Negotiation skills · Providing gentle but honest and continuing feedback. · Approaching a publisher. · Developing marketing strategies. · Promoting yourselves and your work. We¿d love to hear what you think of this book. If you are interested in receiving a bookmark of the cover, please e-mail us at McGoldrickMay@aol.com.
