Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Gisela Jernigan
Martf the mouse's problems begin when his friend Gomez asks him to bring a mango to his party. Since Martf does not know what a mango is, he asks seven fruit-eating animals to enlighten him while he takes notes to help him deduce the unknown from the known. Information about tropical fruits and the deductive process make the book educational, while the use of lively alliteration and repetition make it a fun picture book to read aloud. The bright, tropical illustrations add to the story. It also includes a glossary of the tropical fruits mentioned.
