Overview

Marti Talbott's Highlander Series is a collection of short stories about the Scottish MacGreagor Clan in the 12th century. It all began with --

ANNA -- In love with a woman he had only seen once and could not find, the Highlander, Kevin MacGreagor was growing older and needed a wife to give him sons. No other woman pleased him, even the daughters of other lairds, so he finally settled for Anna sight unseen. But when his men went to meet her guard, she was all alone and badly beaten. Who could have done such a thing and why?

RACHEL -- had a dark secret and even she didn't know what it was. She was seventeen, determined to become as good a warrior as any Highlander and was firmly against taking a husband. Connor had other ideas. He loved Rachel and when a rival clan took her, he thought he would lose his mind. How would he ever get her back and if he did, would her dark secret separate them forever?

CHARLET -- The King of England asked the Highlander, Kevin MacGreagor, to hide a baby girl and save her life. But sixteen years later, someone discovered where she was. To Blair Cameron fell the duty of hiding and protecting Charlet. It was not an easy task. She was furious, head-strong and determined to run from him. Could Blair keep her alive? And if he did, could he keep himself from falling in love with her?

    this was good...not great...or epic

I dont know, I guess I was expecting more. Silly me. It was a good read, like 3 short stories that center around a family and so forth. Simple. If you are looking for lots of steamy sex, or just even a little you wont find it here. A tender look, a touch...thats it folks...hm...I would read it why not free, but the saga continues into 6 more of these short continued stories and believe me when I tell you they are 4.99 each, and if I am gonna pay 4.99 I want sex, and and a LOOOOOONNNGGG story.

Wish I Could Give More Stars

After reading all of the Highlander Series by Marti Talbott, I can say without question that they are among the best books I have ever read.

When you read this author's books you will be transported to Scotland and you will be immersed in the lives of all the characters. You will feel their pain, grief, compassion and love. The characters will become your family and you will not want the books to end.

Kudos to this author, she is one of the most gifted I have ever read.

I recommend you get all the Highlander series books and get to know characters that you will remember always.

    Highly Recommended

The first book start out with a good plot and is very slow and choppy there is wonderful story line. As it moves on it picks up pace. Loved the stories on how these books continued and by the middle I was staying up late to finish, so I could start the next book in morning. I really hope the series continues on.
The author has it right, and can keep my attention. I would read more series by this author.

    Wonderful Read!

I really enjoyed this book. A book that is all about the characters and the plot is hard to come by. I can't count how many times I have had to throw a book away or turn it down completely because of the vulgarity found in the majority of books today. This book was captivating and I can't wait to see what happens in the other books of this series! Many thanks to the author!

    Wonderful stories

Delightful Scot/English history throught the eyes of one clan. Couldn't wait to get my hands on the rest of the series.

    Great stories, just too short

The story lines are great, but the stories themselves are too short making it seem rushed.

    Decent

The story was good. Multiple short stories that build off each other. I think the description should be better and more detailed. 226 pages.

    3 stories in one book

This book is 3 different stories. The first story I loved. However, it ended way too soon and was rushed in alot of places. I was really shocked it was such a short story. Could of been a really great book. The second, was also short. This was the least favorite of the three. The third was a good story and also short. But had a good plot and good characters. I just wish the first and third book would of been longer with more details. Could of been great books.

Glad I picked this up for free

First of all - the author can't even come up with a name? Volume 1 just sounds ridiculous. Secondly - this was just awful. Awful writing, awful storyline. Glad I picked this up as a freebie.

    Too much happened 'off camera'

This series looked good, until I realized that all the real conflict was not shown. It seemed like all the 'good scenes' were off camera.

    clunky writing

The dialogue is heavy and forced, with words not suited to the time period. There's not much action in the stories, and the character motivations for the heroines Anna and Catherin are weak. I gave up midway through Rachel's story, unable to bear reading any more of a story where all the conflict is in the dialogue.

    Fun, happiness & plain speaking

Liked this book for just those reasons. The characters brought all that with dignity & respect. I do always love a Scots tale. Am buying "Maree" after this post. I have no nook friends. Would love to lend & borrow books. I have this genre & many syfy.

    I really enjoyed this one

This is my favorite Talbott story. It was really nice to get to read about each character individually so you can see how they grow. It was just enough of everything, nothing too sexual or to violent. I love a good Scottish Highland novel and this was perfect for my taste. I highly recommend it and I think you will enjoy it!
