Overview

The ex-Shenandoah lead-singer stays true to his roots. These ten tracks -- from a variety of writers -- are pure, 100%, undiluted country music with no concessions to pop, rock, or soul, which is surprising, since Rick Hall, the southern-soul legend, produced them. "Searching for the Missing Peace" is a joyous number, and a good tune to lead off the CD. "Sittin' on a Goldmine," keeps you listening with a story line that is slightly risque; a tasteful slide guitar gives it distinction. Raybon comes straight from the gut on "She Doesn't Need Me Anymore," a flowing, painful tune, and on "I Can't Go for That" and "That's That," two aching beat-ballads. "Cracker Jack Diamond" is the obvious single, but any of the ten could do the trick.
