MARTYR'S CREEK is a report on how we're doing in the twenty-first century--and it's the best we're likely to get for a while. The story is filled with surprises from the first chapter when the main character, James Pandolph (Panda), is told he has been named the executor of the estate of an old enemy. It's hard to describe the story from that point, because the man who died did not find his place in any of the usual destinations. He insists on intruding in the lives of others in the same obnoxious way he did when he was one of the leaders of the neo-con movement and a powerful man in national politics. He has also left behind a lot of live bodies to trip over, including some sexy ones and some smooth operators. Depending on your politics, you'll love or hate this novel. But you won't--no matter how hard you try--guess the ending. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
