MY SON HAD US READ HIM THIS BOOK EVERYNIGHT BEFORE HE WOULD GO TO BED UNTIL HE WAS OLD ENOUGH TO READ IT HIMSELF. HE BECAME A DAD 3 WEEKS AGO AND I HAD TO FIND 'MOONEY' AS HE USED TO CALL THE BOOK, SO HE CAN KNOW THE JOY OF READING THE SAME BOOK OVER AND OVER AGAIN

I've been reading this book to my now 3 1/2 year old son since he was born and he still begs to read it almost every night. He can read almost the entire book by memory now! We read a book every night before he goes to bed and what I add on the last page when it says 'so Marvin went' I add 'went to bed'. It just is a cute ending for the book before bed. This is our favorite book and i'm sure we will be reading it for many years yet. Sara

I am 18 years old, and I tracked this book down on Barnes and Noble.com. This is one of my favorites from my childhood- full of fun gibberish and nonsense. I am still upset that it is an overlooked classic from Dr. Seuss.

The story is simple enough and my 5 year old loves to read this book out loud to us at bedtime. The repetitive nature of the book is perfect for beginning readers. "Will you please go now" is an empowering phrase for a little one to repeat and enjoy reading/saying over and over.
