Carnevale [Siren Allure ManLove: Erotic Alternative Historical Romance, M/M, voyeurism, public exhibition, orgies, sex toys, HEA] Perry Sinclair's grand tour of Europe is not going entirely to plan. He loses his bear-leader, his valet, and his friend in quick succession, and finds himself alone in Venice. In the midst of the gaiety and excesses of Venetian Carnevale, Perry meets a fellow Englishman, known only as Jack. Jack introduces Perry to a group of gentlemen who indulge in a variety of sexual activities while hiding their identity behind Carnevale masks. Shocked and yet delighted, Perry flings himself headlong into such pleasure, falling deeply in love with Jack as he does so. Jack Fitzwarren does not fall in love. He certainly does not fall in love with English tourists. But despite Jack's best efforts, Perry's artless enthusiasm and unquestioning trust begin to find a way through all of his defences, allowing Jack almost to forget the secret he carries with him, the one that means he can never confess to Perry who he really is. ** A Gilded Cage [Siren Allure ManLove: Erotic Alternative Historical Romance, M/M, public exhibition, bondage, sex toys, HFN] Perry Sinclair is blissfully happy living in Italy with his lover, Jack Fitzwarren. He finds as much happiness in the peace of Jack's vineyard as he does in the decadent delights of Venice in full Carnevale, where everyone is masked and nothing is forbidden. Jack is a fugitive from English justice, wanted for a crime he did not commit. When Perry's ex-lover, Gilbert, arrives in Venice, Perry realizes that the safety they thought Jack had found in Venice is nothing more than an illusion. Perry attempts to assuage Gilbert's desire to experience Venice and Carnevale, as well as his seemingly endless curiosity about just why Perry has remained in Venice. He must do all of this without giving rise to any suspicion of Jack's presence, because if Jack is discovered, he will face the noose. Meanwhile, Gilbert has an agenda of his own, and Perry is faced with an agonizing choice. ** A Siren Erotic Romance

If I could give 5 stars just for setting, I would. Hannah paints the most amazing backdrops for her characters but I do wish her characters had as much life. Still, I enjoyed this trip back in time to the 1970's. Open the doors or pages in this case, and be transported to the summer of 1976. Luz de Rueda has returned home to Cadiz, Spain after spending years in England. A freelance writer who works as a biographer, she enjoys her work because it allows her to be herself, free to do as she pleases. Having always considered herself a free spirit, she discovers her life is nothing as free as that of a gypsy – one in particular. The young, handsome, and very sexy Leandro is not easily forgotten, not even when she meets her new employer, Andres de Calderon who is practically his double. But the two men are complete opposites yet both inspire her deepest desires. The question that needs to be answered is…which will her heart choose? As usual, Hannah Fielding has painted an extraordinary picture of Cadiz. Her settings always take center stage in her romances. As much as I love this quality about her writing, I wish she could extend it just a bit more toward her characters. Whereas the city is one of the characters in the story, and although I enjoyed the premise, the mystery, and found it intriguing, I wish the characters had a bit more life to them. I wanted to feel more of what Luz was feeling and there were times when I wished I could have put some words in Leandro’s mouth. Andres was probably the most alive character in this story. The love triangle is a good one…I think I lean more toward Andres being the better man although, I’m not sure I totally trust him but Leandro needs to grow up. I should warn that it does end in a cliffhanger and so if you’re not prepared to read the next book, you might be a tad disappointed…I’d like to know what happens. MASQUERADE by Hannah Fielding is a beautiful journey back in time to a beautiful city to experience a story filled with passion, heartbreak, revenge, betrayal, and love…the only question is with whom does our heroine find herself finally falling in love…the sexy gypsy or the sophisticated and refined gentleman? If you’re a fan of beautiful settings, fabulous imagery, and descriptions that make you feel, smell, and sense the place then definitely read MASQUERADE, book two in the Andalucian Nights series by Hannah Fielding. If she ever packs as much wallop into her character building as she does her settings, there will be no stopping her. ***eARC provided by author in exchange for an honest and unscripted review.
Luz Maria Cervantes de Rueda, the only child of Count Salvador Cervantes de Rueda was back in Spain. She'd been abroad studying for many years. Now it was time to go back home and begin her career. She was excited to be back with her family. Luz made sure she had plenty of time to ride on the beach and to swim. She'd missed this while in England. Her first days back, Luz happened on a gypsy man. He was perfection to her. Smiling to herself, she knew it was going to be a great summer. Vibrant and descriptive, this book entails the forbidden romance. The love story is a good one and really takes steps you didn't see coming. Ms. Fielding wrote in such a way you felt the mist of the sea. You could smell the fresh winds blowing. You'll feel as if you are on vacation while reading this one. I did find issues. This book is about 150 pages to long. It's dry because it doesn't have much in the way of dialogue. You get a fantastic idea of the area but not much about the people. I gave this one 3 cheers out of 5 because of the issues above. Not even the descriptions could save this read. ~Copy of book provided by author in exchange for a fair review~
A beautiful love story of passion and love, curses and family secrets. With beautiful descriptions and exotic locations the author weaves a heart wrenching tale of love and revenge. The author does a wonderful job of setting the tone of the book and showing the growing love between the characters as well as the hurt and betrayal that is felt. This story led me on an emotional roller coaster and I loved every minute of it. It was hard to put down as there was so much going on between all of the different characters I had to know what would happen next. The romance was beautifully done and not over the top. The characters were real and had their own problems and failings that they had to deal with before they got their happy ending. I loved the build up to the romance and how the different feelings both good and bad were explored throughout the story. Luz was a strong heroine who was used to taking care of herself, but she wasn't afraid of strong feelings. I loved her inquisitive nature and that she didn't let anyone stand in her way of finding out the truth. Her relationship with both Leandro and Andres was intense and full of twists and turns. It was easy to get involved with the mystery of these two men and see how Luz could be torn about the two. This was an intense romance with a good dose of mystery that I would highly recommend.
Book exchanged for an honest review~ Luz Maria Cervantes de Rueda is freelance writer practicing as biographer. She's finally come home to Spain after spending years in England. Luz considers herself to be a free spirit but nothing compared to the gypsy. She meets Andres de Calderon who sparks deep seated desire something she's never felt for anyone before. There is something familiar about the young gypsy Leandro that makes him so different from Andres. Now Luz is torn between two men and can't choice either of them. Can Luz listen to her heart? Or will she choose the masquerade? Your answers await you in Masquerade. Interesting and unique story set in Spain in The 1970's. The story and characters are compelling, intriguing, real, raw, honest, and down to earth. Masquerade's have always intrigued me but to have it as running theme thorough out the whole book was something delicious to behold. Definitely looking forward to more of this author's work in the future.
Fielding paints her world for her audience, creating a picturesque and wonderful backdrop for her romantic and heartfelt story. At the same time, it was so much more than that. This was a complexly crafted and one of a kind to tale. There were some comical moments that broke up the intensity of the tale. I enjoyed how Fielding drew me into her story, creating a place for me to travel alongside her characters. The characters that Fielding creates take readers slightly back in the past and set the tone for the novel. Each was a wonderful and fantastic addition to the tale. Luz’s turmoil was appealing and so natural. The characters in this novel evoke real emotions while you’re reading their tales, making the story even more real. This was a sweet, lifelike novel that allows readers to escape reality into its pages. Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work in exchange for an honest review.
