I am returning this book today. While it states in the synopsis "preschool to age 9", I feel this book is more suited to a 3-4 year old. My kids are 4 and 5, and I feel its too young for them. While it has a nice overall layout, I do not like the text. There is a page where they describe how the priest will kiss the altar, and the text reads, "Isn't that funny!" Plus, they didn't bother to print the Nicene Creed in entirety - just the first couple of lines.

I bought this for my daughter to help her get more out of Mass, and it is great. It's teaching her things about Mass that even some adult Catholics don't know. It walks children through Mass, what the parts are and what they contain, and tells them why they are doing or saying things during certain parts of the Mass. I think all 1st-3rd graders should receive this book at Sunday School. It helps a child to stay focused and to engage during church.
