About the Author

Archana Rakesh Singh (nee Shukla) is a faculty in mass communication at Panjab University, Chandigarh. Earlier, she taught at the Gwalior study centre of Makhan Lal Chaturvedi National Journalism University, Bhopal. Dr. Singh gained her Bachelor and Master degrees in Journalism from Rani Durgavati Vishwavidyalaya, Jabalpur and the Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, respectively and topped both. After clearing the University Grant Commission's National Entrance Test, she was accepted as Junior Research Fellow at AJKMCRC New Delhi, where she completed her Ph.D. She has been involved with the subject of AIDS communication since the mid-1990s. She was a part of the investigating team from MCRC, Jamia Millia Islamia for conducting AIDS awareness and Media search Survey amongst adolescents in Chennai.
