    Okay I guess

I first played ME2 and wanted to see how Liara truly got a hold of Shepard's body by reading this. I was a bit surprised at how they portrayed the drell, but I guess everyone changes when you are strapped to a chair and electrocuted. That aside, I like the mini story it was portrayed as. Liara is still an awesome asari and her attitude towards getting her friend back was good. This is what I would consider a flashback if they had this in the game.

Redemption is a pretty decent graphic novel set in the Mass Effe

Redemption is a pretty decent graphic novel set in the Mass Effect universe; taking place shortly after the events at the beginning of Mass Effect 2. It does a good job of filling in some of Liara's backstory, which was only eluded to in the game. The graphic novel also covers the beginnings of her relationship with Feron which is picked up again in the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC and mentioned Mass Effect 3. I enjoyed these additional story beats but do feel that the author's portrayal of Liara was inconsistent with how she was developed in Mass Effect 1. We continue to see her transition from a "bookworm" Prothean researcher to a much more street savvy biotic powerhouse, but I felt the transition was too quick and awkward in Redemption. I also felt that the art was a bit lacking, again being inconsistent from page to page.

Despite these minor issues I enjoyed Redemption overall. If you are a fan of the Mass Effect games/universe the story in Redemption is worth the read!
