Overview

Charles Francis Haanel (May 22, 1866 - November 27, 1949) was a noted American New Thought author and a businessman. He is best known for his contributions to the New Thought Movement through his book The Master Key System.

Hannel's book The Master Key System, was published in 1912, when he was 46 years old. It is written in the form of a course in New Thought, mental development, financial success, and personal health. The book was heavily promoted in the pages of Elizabeth Towne's New Thought magazine The Nautilus. By 1933 it had sold over 200,000 copies worldwide. Haanel practiced the financial principles he preached and was a self made success who owned several major companies. According to Stevens, writing in 1909, "He was president of the Continental Commercial Company, president of the Sacramento Valley Improvement Company, and president of the Mexico Gold & Silver Mining Company."

The original Master Key System contained 24 parts or modules of study. The allegedly "lost" chapters of the Master Key System, chapters 25-28, which are found in some editions, are not original, but have been copied from the chapters 11-14 of A book about You. Among the key points of Haanel's system are what he refers to as the laws of concentration, attraction, and harmonious thinking and action. Unique to the Master Key System is a set of exercises that accompany each chapter, and which are systematically building upon each other - they are what makes the Master Key System a system.

The Best Thing You'll Ever Do For Yourself!

If you are even considering buying this book, you must go through with it! It's phenomenal. I downloaded it to my IPOD and I listen to it any possible chance I get. It's THAT good. If you ever wanted to control your thoughts, control that idle mind chatter that amounts to bunk, buy this book. It will teach you how to focus and streamline your thoughts. I loved it.

    Extraordinary, Excellent and Perfect

I purchased the CD's to the Master Key System after purchasing and reading the book by the same author a couple years ago that I have read 2-3 times. If I could rate this 100,000, I would. It is that excellent. I purchased the CD's because I wanted to listen to the information while I was driving because this is information that one needs to pour into the subconscious mind on a daily basis and listening to the CD's and reading the book accomplishes that. The information is presented in 24 parts that one reads and studies until the information is absorbed. The author shares the Truth about manifestation, how this is accomplished and how to change the programming that is preventing you from evolving and being successful in your life. The author does not present a quick-fix, you have to do the work in order for this program to work. He teaches you to go beyond the physical and use the only true power that there is, the power within. I can see the teachings of Ernest Holmes peppered throughout this work, another excellent, excellent author and teacher.

    A reviewer

This must have been the foundation for every other self help book written in the 20th Century and beyond. If you use this book as intended, work at it, study it to understand it, your life will change. It's not that difficult to understand, but it takes discipline to implement, which the simple exercises help you develop. The book offers a profound truth and it is amazing that it was originally published in 1912. I wish Charles Haanel's principles were being taught in every school and that I had found it when I was much younger. If you accept the premise that there is one energy in the Universe from which everything else is made - Spirit, God, or whatever you wish to call it - then you can benefit from this book.

    A Must Read

If you've read similar books from Rhonda Byrnes and Esther and Jerry Hicks, you will definitely enjoy this book. It functions more like a manual, a how-to book that let's you understand the law of attraction.

    I Also Recommend:

Charles Haanel will work you to death reading this book!

This was my first experience with Charles Haanel. I found his writing style very difficult to follow and a real challenge to hang in there to the finish. I was not impressed with the method of numbering the different sentence/paragraphs. In addition, I found his logic and wordy style confusing, hard to follow, and a "tad" frustrating.

This book is 260 pages in length broken into 24 sections. Honestly? I would recommend sticking with the latest Law of Attraction series with Esther and Jerry Hicks and others. Much more revealing, fun to read, better continuity, and a cleaner modern writing style.

Why was this book so challenging to read? Haanel wrote it 90 years ago and is described by the writer of his brief bio as, ".....one of the finest studies in self-improvement and higher consciousness ever written." For me, the writing and handling of the subject matter almost made me "unconscious."

I really don't know who I would recommend this book to. I sure would not recommend it to someone just starting out on their personal development journey. It would scare the H*** out of them and they would quit for sure, going back into their comfort zone.

No, stick with Esther and Jerry Hicks, Jack Canfield, Michael Losier and others.

Master Key System. This book is the precursor to all the current rage concerning the Law of Attraction

The Barnes and Noble edition is the best publication I have witnessed of this classic treatment of the Spiritual Laws of Success and Achievement.
After this book, there is no need for the incessant revisions to what Haanel so aptly encapsulates in this work. Read it over and over. Obey his lessons and you will see what he reveals in the new world that begins to unfold for you.

All his books were first done by W.W.A.

This guy took books by William Walker Atkinson and copied them. All his books were first done by W.W.A. Do the research and you will agree. He took the titles, principles and words from W.W.A.and acted like he came up with them.

    Highly Recommended

If you do not have this book in your library, you are missing out! If you were to possibly own only 1 book, I would think this may be the one I would choose to have. Not meant for just one read, but almost a textbook through life.
