Overview

Enter a dark world of clerical conspiracy and spirit-crushing revenge in this thinking-man’s thriller by renowned author Rev. Donald Cozzens. In the deserts of Iraq, a decades-long plan for revenge is being perfected. Army sniper Mark Anderle is only months away from returning to Baltimore to settle the score with the corrupt priest who sexually abused him as a boy—a priest who is planning to celebrate his fiftieth ordination anniversary as Archbishop. In facing his demons, Anderle will be forced to confront the shadowy Brotherhood of the Sacred Purple, a group using church funds to protect the retired archbishop from exposure. Their leader, F. Francis Kempe, will stop at nothing—not even cold-blooded murder—to achieve their goals.  Meanwhile, Associate Bishop Bryn Martin is suffering a crisis of consciousness after uncovering the existence of the Brotherhood and its role in his meteoric rise in the church. He meets up with Anderle’s aunt, Elizabeth, who is hot on the trail of the Brotherhood and committed to justice. All of their plans are set to collide on the night of the archbishop’s jubilee dinner, and you will be bracing yourself for the explosive conclusion. An intricate tale inspired by the ongoing controversies within the Catholic Church, Master of Ceremonies is both a timely and powerful testament to what it takes to take a stand.
