Overview

In the final book of New York Times bestselling author Angela Knight's Mageverse, two werewolves must save humanity from a madman, despite their mutual distrust--and growing passion...

Miranda Drake is the daughter of Warlock, a werewolf sorcerer and sworn enemy of King Arthur. Like her father, she's a werewolf with magical abilities, but after years of abuse from the Alphas in her family, she is determined to stop Warlock from spreading his poison throughout the werewolf population.

Born to a long line of cops, William Justice thinks that protecting Miranda is his chance to redeem himself for not being able to stop Warlock's manipulation of the werewolves into war. But despite Justice's insistence, Miranda has no interest in trusting another dominant Alpha, even if the sexual tension between them is enough to set her aflame.

As Warlock rallies his forces and sets out to destroy Avalon, Miranda and Justice will need to learn how to trust each other--before the spark between them dies along with all of Magekind...

I put off reading this book because quite honestly I didn't want this series to end...after all my delays, I finally settled down to read the story and thought...were the heck did this come from? I was looking for something that tied the whole series together and didn't really ever get it.  Yes, some of it was really funny...The original characters are pulled back in...there is a bunch of new characters introduced that will most likely become a spin off. Of course we have lots of violence, action and the evil is really evil.  In the end, I'm a Mageverse fan girl so I liked it enough for a 3.5 stars but I was disappointed with the ending.

Great ending to this story arc. So happy to see Warlock finally get his. Love Angela Knight she is one of the great ones. Waiting impatiently for Enforcer in her other series. Highly recommend the whole series.

Master of Darkness was everything I'd hoped for. A very satisfying ending to the villain, a fascinating romance between the hero and heroine and fans of the series get to see all of the players come together for a last final battle. Of course, there is the magical woo-woo that drives the plot but since we're dealing with the Mageverse, it fit. I wouldn't classify this as a standalone read. The dramatic ending won't have much impact unless a reader is familiar with all the other characters from past books. I hope fans of the series will be as well pleased as I am.

Great book. An exceptional story from the Mageverse Series and the final one in the line of 9 thoroughly enjoyable, yummy books. I don't recommend #8 Master of Shadows to anyone for the romance aspect, but to be used as a bridge to #9, as Le Belle Coeur and Tristans' love story in #8 seemed not to hold any real enduring emotion and the book was apparently just used as a wrap up of information for the last of the series. Master of Darkness is a great paranormal romance if you love a strong hero who's only weakness is the women he loves. Unfortunately, I don't recommend that you read this series out of order as this final book will be enriched and become more cohesive if read the proceeding books in succession.
