Overview

Mixing business and pleasure with a five hundred year old vampire is never smart.

Earth in 2339 is not a joyful place, and Blythe’s company is in the business of making people happy. She travels from the future to 1785 Scotland to prove that she is worthy of keeping her job. But Darach Mackenzie tests even her skills. He is too much of everything—too deadly, too tempting, and obviously too much vampire for one woman to handle.

But Blythe rises to the challenge. She helps save Darach from those who would enslave and kill him. But who will save her when she learns that the price of his happiness is her heart?

Meet the Author

USA TODAY bestselling author NINA BANGS lives near Houston, Texas, with her cat, Abby, and two vampires who never made it into her books. She's joking about the vampires, but she'd be open to the concept. The paranormal world fascinates her. And if she didn't love creating stories filled with strange and deadly characters so much, she'd be hunting ghosts for TAPS.

I have read 6 of Nina Bangs' 'vampire' books in the last two-three weeks and this is by far THE BEST! They are all exceptional but this book is a definite read! It offers love, betrayal, good and evil, sex, deception, suspense, comedy, and drama all in one book! I love books with strong women and this book as well as her others are known for their tough and strong-minded women! You fall in love with the main characters and find yourself routing for the bad guy to come out and play! Sparkle and Ganymede's adventures are never boring or predictable! If you love paranormal romances you will LOVE this book!

Nina Bangs has been coming on strong with her books and this is another in the long line of 'good reads'. It's a time travel, it's a vampire book like none other. Very refreshing tale! Bythe was born in the year 2310, where nearly everything - including life - is indestructible. The people live on and on and on, so they grow bored and bored lead to extreme depression - except in Casper, Wyoming where Blythe was been 'exiled' to do her job. A job that included reading her client's feelings and doing what she needs to make him happy - just sex it outside the limits. She crossed that limit in her previous assignment - hence the banishing to Casper. In order to prove she is worthy to get out of Happyville, USA, she has taken on a new assignment - A working vacation (immediately superior tagging along to report on her). She and her boss book a vacation back in history - 1785 Scotland to be precise to Castle MacKenzie (HUM - Miss Bangs please note that is SMALL k not large K!!) through Grannymead tours. We learn Grannymead and his companion - and oversexed spirit Sparkle Stardust are there to make trouble. He commands to Sparkle appear in cat form to help with his plans. Grannymead has booked the tour into the castle thinking it's empty. Everyone soon learns there is one Darach MacKenzie, owner - for several centuries - of the castle. He wants the tour gone, so Grannymead plans to kill the vampire for control of the Castle. Bythe is attracted to Darach, though she is not sure about liking a vampire. To make her confusion worse, her boss has assigned her - challenged - her to make Darach happy or else get fired - and no sex! How do you make a 700 year old vampire happy??? Toss in a deranged Buffy the Vampire fan from the present century who sees herself as Bully Jr. and who agrees with Grannymead the Vamp has to go, you have is one witty tale that will keep the readers guessing from page to page. Sure to please vampire fans and time travel fans looking for something a little different, and guaranteed to satisfy Nina Bang Fans!

Taking a trip back in time might not be your ordinary vacation choice, but not everyone has reformed demon, Ganymede, for a travel agent. Since Blythe does, she takes a trip from the 24th century back to the 18th. As an agent of Ectasy Inc. she is under one rule above all else, no sex. That should be easy enough to accomplish, especially since Ganymede's not reformed demoness helper is causing Blythe's fellow male travelers to not be attracted to women. However, there is a vampire lurking around, and he is a much greater challenge. Darach finds the future woman intriguing in more ways than one, and is determined to win her, despite the insane vampires attacking the castle, the wild women looking for immortality, and the fluffy little pink tribble type things following Blythe around. .............................. ***** If Ganymede is in a book, it's a guaranteed winner in the laughs department. Adding in his associate, Sparkle, and the giggles double. Ms. Bangs cleverly mixes action, humor, time travel, and vampires to make a charmer of a novel. The only problem is now I want one of the little fuzz balls sent to harrass Blythe with affection. *****

What an incredible read, I don't know how I've not come across this author before but I've certainly been missing out. The dark and deadly but incredible sexy Vampire Darach and Blythe, the strong independent 'woman from another time' are the central characters, with a host of supporting characters, including Ganymede and Sparkle Startdust, they are cosmic troublemakers, I love these characters, they are fun to read with the mischief they create. This book is incredibly well written and has it all, humour, danger, seduction, a talking cat ! Yep that's what I said, This is one trip you're all going to want to take, I'm off to search out more of Ms Bangs work and hopefully find some more of Sparkle Stardust and Mede's unique kind of trouble.

Sorry to all of you who loved this book, but it just wasn't something I enjoyed. I read it all, giving it a chance, because ever since I read Twilight and the Vampire Diaries, I have been OBSESSED with vampire stories. So I thought, "Why not give this one a try?" But to me, it just wasn't worth it. Bangs focused too much on the sexual aspect of the story rather than actually giving it a plotline to start out at. In other words, the only thing the story really gave the spotlight to was SEX. I think if she started the story out by letting us get to know the characters first, it would have worked out better. Again, I know a lot of people have absolutley loved this book, and in the department of originality, the book is great, but it's just not for me.
