    Awesome book

Marvin is a seventeen-year-old teenager at Sesa high school. He has a crush on the beautiful Shelly Quade who is currently going out with a football jock named Triad Tyler. He is also just another senior just waiting to graduate right. But that's where the regularities end, he is also a bestselling author writing under the Pen name of Mack Slate. He is currently writing the final chapter in his series named The Mystery at Silver Lake. This presents the crazy situation of secretly being the biggest writer since John Grisham. Yet Marvin doesn't seem to be worried about his final book that is due in ten days, a book that he hasn't even started. His only worry now is asking the beautiful Shelly Quade out. She has eluded him since her ex-boyfriend Harry, committed suicide about a year ago. However, he also has more problems than that; he has to worry about his alcoholic parents also. This book covers a crazy love triangle and the fact that Marvin might be writing about his own life, which he doesn't realize until a lot later. Sooner than later he comes to realize that Shelly's ex-boyfriend Harry may not of committed suicide, that maybe he was murdered. This opens up a bunch of twists, turns and plot twists that Christopher pike is known to write. Marvin Summers is a very realistic character. His perspective on life and high school fits what most people would say to be accurate. Ninety percent of the time, all he can think of is the beautiful Shelly Quade that is actually very realistic also. Any person would agree with this. His sister is a wonderful addition, giving him support where normally his parents would be there. She is somewhat jealous of her brother's fame; she often goes to his P.O. Box to pick up his fan mail to read. It was her fantasy that when Marvin graduated that she would go off to live with him and away from her alcoholic parents. This has to be my favorite Christopher Pike book. It is a great book to start with if you are interested in reading more of his work. No matter how many times I read this book it never gets old. This is also a lot less confusing then some of his other works but nevertheless still very enjoyable.

If you enjoy this book make sure to also check out Spellbound also by Christopher Pike.

    Another One of Pike's best!

Master of Murder was wonderful, with no trace of the SciFi that Christopher Pike usually ties into his books. I loved it and I recommend it to anyone who was wondering.

    Great

This was a really great book even though i've read more than half of mr.pikes books, this is a have to read book. It's about a guy in his senior year in highschool thats a millionaire. But no one knows that at his highschool because he uses a pen name. everyone is dying to find out what happens in his next series at his highschool. Since nobody knows his name, some does know, and sent him a letter saying I KNOW WHO YOU ARE. so i'd really recommend this book.

    It was a good book......but..........

I think that this was a good book but this kind of Murder Mystery has been written with tons of authors before Christopher Pike and I think that I would have maybe given him five stars if he would have thought of something that would be original. But the way that he wrote the book, using all the descripted words and things, I would most definnatly tell someone to go and read this book if the asked me what a good book would be. I think the book that hits the top with his series is Witch, if you understand it,, you would say that it is a fantasic book to.

    FANTASTIC!!!!!

I've only just finished this book and i couldn't put it down. It was FANTASTIC along with the rest of his books. I liked it how Marvin was writting about his what was going on in his life subconsciously and he didn't really know! I think all his books should be movies.
