Overview

Witch Lark McClure has survived a vicious vampire attack that shook her confidence and left her struggling with feelings of helplessness and fear. The last thing she needs is a partnership with Gawain, a handsome vampire knight who means to seduce her every chance he gets.

Gawain believes he needs Lark for one thing and one thing only—and it’s not her skill with magic. In the process, he plans to help her overcome her fear and show her the pleasure to be found in a vampire’s arms.

But even as passion sizzles between Lark and Gawain, a revenge-driven killer targets them. If he has his way, Lark, Gawain, and the world itself will pay the price.

Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
The Barnes & Noble Review
Take the story of Arthur and the Holy Grail, add some vampires and a new universe, lots of fighting and paranormal passion, then spin until dizzy. Welcome to the world Angela Knight has created in Master of Swords. It features two likable characters who fall reluctantly in love -- Lark McGuin, Maga apprentice and immortal witch, and Gawain, skilled knight, CNN watcher, and playboy. There's a complicated backstory involving Gawain and a dragon, the creation of the Mageverse, and so on. Suffice it to say, the Magekind are battling with the followers of an alien named Geirolf who have been turned into vampires. Lark McGuin has been petitioned to join the fight, but her assigned partner, Gawain, seems much keener on seduction.

As she did in Master of Wolves and Master of the Moon, Angela Knight packs a lot of passion and plot into a fast-paced book that never lets up. Ginger Curwen

In 510 Avalon in the mageverse, Gawain of the Round Table sees six hellhounds have trapped a dragon. He intercedes and saves the dragon¿s life, who uses a spell so they can communicate. Kel and Gawain become friends. One year later, Kel finds he likes being in human form where he seduces the magae, but his hanging with Gawain and company upsets the other dragons. Kel¿s Uncle Dragon Lord Tegid fearing him casts a spell that reduces his nephew to a silver sword with his only escape being the death of his best friend Gawain.---------------- In the present, after an attack left four tyro defenders dead, King Arthur announces a new pairing. A relative newcomer will be paired with a veteran. Gawain becomes Lark¿s mentor. At his home, Gawain and Lark make love and he takes a bite as vampires do when they are with magae. Afterward Morgana assigns Gawain and Lark to investigate a murder. They find strong magic, but finally with Kel¿s help they arrive to find the sorcerer dead. They track that kill to a more powerful sorcerer Richard Edge, son of Avalon parents but he was rejected by the community as unworthy. Now Richard has a powerful ally and owns the last of the three Black Grails. -------------------- Though this delightful Camelot tale can stand alone, the tale has threads left from previous Mageverse novels like MASTER OF WOLVES and the novella ¿Galahad¿ from BITE. The strong support cast especially Kel and the Camelot crowd adds depth to the mageverse and enhances either by combat or friendship the terrific relationship between the lead couple that changes over time. A fabulous final twist involving the hero and his father add to a terrific romantic fantasy that spins the Arthurian legend into a different unique direction.---------------- Harriet Klausner

    Swords & Dragons

This addition of the Mageverse Series tells a story about the long lived life of Gawain and Kel (an enchanted dragon in the form of a sword). After fighting many battles in his 1600 years, Gawain was not prepared for the coming battle when receiving his new apprentice. Lark, the great grand-daughter of the infamous Tristen, is set to become a great fighter until her unfortunate meeting with an evil vampire. Lost in her own consciousness, Lark falls into the arms and heart of the fierce Gawain.

It was a steamy and action packed story of loyalty and lust. I can't wait for the next addition!

    The Best

I absolutely loved it. The hero, heroin, villains, all the character's in this book were well written. It was funny, action packed with a bit of gore. The sex scenes were detailed and very erotic. It was fantastic!

    I love this author but...

Knight's dialogue is way to basic and course. I mean the sex seens are great, and I can understand the use of Ooo's and ah's. But in all of her books there is a lot of unneccesary cursing that makes the characters look stupid. Don't get me wrong, I LOVE these stories, but the dialogue, in my opinion, needs a little work.

    I finished it!

The book jumped back and forth too much for my liking. It was S L O W to get started. If I didn't already know the author and this series I would have put it down around page 64. It was a book I had to put down frequently and force myself to finish because I needed to see how it would end. The SEX scenes were abit too long, too. Got to where I was turning the pages through that...
