I purchased the digital version. The book is full of very useful information for directors. The diagrams are sometimes a bit small and hard to follow, and having them all in grainy black-and-white doesn't really help much. He also describes each technique in enough detail that a savvy reader can usually figure it out. It helps to be familiar with the movie scenes the author uses to illustrate his points. Netflix is a useful side companion. Beware: the "free NookBook sample" is utterly useless. Your 25-page "preview" includes the cover, publishing info, several pages of reviews of this very book, the complete table of contents (why?), the author's lengthy foreword, and two paragraphs from the beginning of chapter 1. You don't even get one lousy illustration. Pass it over.
