From The CriticsReviewer: Alfonso Mejia, MD, MPH (University of Illinois at Chicago College of Medicine)
Description: This second edition continues the step-by-step treatment of hand conditions characteristic of the excellent Master Techniques in Orthopaedic Surgery series.
Purpose: Topics are covered in chapters that focus on particular surgical techniques. Indications and contraindications are clearly stated and surgical techniques are abundantly used to add clarity to the outstanding descriptions.
Audience: This book is directed to the practicing orthopedic surgeon. It allows the surgeon to look over the shoulder of a master surgeon while planning his or her own case.
Features: The book is broken down into sections covering fractures and dislocations, the pediatric hand, nerve disorders, tendon surgery, elective and microsurgery.
Assessment: This is a beautiful, well written, valuable book. Many chapters have been expanded to cover techniques that have developed since the first edition was published. This book is an essential part of any hand surgeon's library.
