From The CriticsReviewer: haena kim, MD (Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine)
Description: This comprehensive book on rhinoplasty covers relevant key anatomy and uses superb illustrations of operative techniques. While the descriptive text is adequate, the pictures (both illustrated and live on the two DVDs) enhance understanding.
Purpose: The purpose is to provide a comprehensive resource on commonly used surgical techniques in rhinoplasty, as well as those on the vanguard, even if they involve competing theories. Rhinoplasty surgeons should have an understanding of conventional techniques as well as what may be on the horizon. The book is written by the top experts in rhinoplasty, both primary and revision.
Audience: It is intended for more advanced residents and practitioners with a good understanding and appreciation of the challenges faced in rhinoplasty. Specifically, it is targeted at facial plastic surgeons with an interest in rhinoplasty.
Features: The book covers both open and closed rhinoplasty techniques. It provides a comprehensive explanation of all aspects of rhinoplasty, from primary to revision, and does not shy away from challenging aspects. I particularly liked the chapters on the approach to rhinoplasty in different ethnicities.
Assessment: This would be a key addition to any rhinoplasty surgeon's library, whether beginning or a veteran. It achieves its aims and has set a high standard for future books to emulate.
