## Overview

Comprehensive, Rigorous Prep for the LSAT.

To prepare properly for the LSAT, you must study problems that reflect the true LSAT format. The best way to do that is to study actual LSAT tests. Now, you can do that with this book! MASTER THE LSAT contains detailed solutions to 4 official LSATs! numerous actual LSAT questions, carefully selected to illustrate every type of question that has appeared on the test in the past several years, including thorough analysis of 4 official LSATs! These solutions will introduce you to numerous analytic techniques that will help you immensely not only on the LSAT but in law school as well.

The LSAT is an aptitude test. Like all aptitude tests, it must choose a medium in which to measure intellectual ability. The LSAT has chosen logic. Although this makes the LSAT hard, it also makes the test predictable--it is based on fundamental principles of logic. MASTER THE LSAT analyzes and codifies these basic principles: the contrapositive, the if-then, pivotal words, etc. Armed with this knowledge, you will have the ability to greatly increase your score.

Features:

* Analytical Reasoning: Learn powerful diagramming techniques and step-by-step strategies to solve every type of game question that has appeared on the LSAT.

* Logical Reasoning: Discover the underlying simplicity of these problems and learn the principles of logic these questions are based on.

* Reading Comprehension: Develop the ability to spot places from which questions are likely to be drawn as you read a passage. (pivotal words, counter-premises, etc.)

* Mentor Exercises: These exercises provide hints, insight, and partial solutions to ease your transition from seeing LSAT problems solved to solving them on your own.

* Complete analysis of 4 official LSATs.

* Official score conversion charts and writing samples for each test.

* The average LSAT scores of 153 ABA approved law schools.

Also includes LSAT test prep software!

Software features:

Mentor Mode: In Mentor Mode, you are immediately told whether you answered a problem correctly, and you can immediately view a detailed solution of the problem.

Test Mode: In Test Mode, you can take a test timed and scored by the program.

## Editorial Reviews

Thorough and Effective

There is no better LSAT prep book than this one. It's certainly not the cheapest one, but it's easily the best value. It covers everything in detail with plenty of sample questions. It explains what you need to know simply and clearly, so I didn't feel like I was wasting time reading unnecessary material. This was really effective test prep and does get you prepared for the test.

The best of of its kind

I bought the three best-known LSAT test prep books. I was in despair over taking the LSAT after working through other two, but this one really worked. Buy Master the LSAT and a pile of practice exams from LSAC. I followed the opening instructions to start my prep 12 weeks ahead of my test date, working a little each day (if you aren't self-motivated enough to do that, please forget law school). I have no doubt that this book is responsible for my good LSAT score and admittance to law school.

Master The LSAT is the best LSAT prep book on the market. This book is the most rigorous approach to the LSAT I have encountered. I have referred it to a number of individuals who had not scored well on the test after taking expensive review courses and about 90% of them experienced solid improvements in their scores. Most found it a much more sophisticated approach to the LSAT than is usually offered by prep courses or other prep books. However, I have suggested it only to serious, disciplined studiers, as it requires more dedication to "work" the book than to listen to instructors. This book has helped me work through the complex problems offered on the LSAT examination. I have a better grasp on how to solve problems, with strategies and hints offered in this book. It is a good stepping stone to successful practice of LSAT tests, and offers a good understanding of how to work through the test. Definately a good read, however make sure you give yourself 4-5 weeks to go through this book, and additional time to take LSAT practice tests.

No pre-law. No logic course. No expensive prep course. Just this book! It has every thing I think you could want in a test prep book. They don't tell you what to do and how to do it; they give you all the ways to do something, encourage you to practice, and then help you choose the way thats best for you. Even if you are crunched for time, this book will work. I read this book on my morning commute for 3 weeks and got a 167. No gimmicks. Just a well written book that is easy to read and understand. A must have for any LSAT taker.

We've been around the block with more than a few books over the years we have been offering a prep course. Students in our course find 'Master' to be an enormous help in their search for an understanding of the dynamics of the test. Our instructors praise the book's ability to provide the appropriate explanation to a point of logic or analytical reasoning that confounds the novices. Repeating: Best LSAT prep book ever. --Charles Fleener--Director, Pre Law Program, St. Louis Univ.

I bought this book to help me get a feel for all the sections on the test. i had just finished going through the entire book (without timing myself on the practice tests) and i feel like i have obtained a great overall knowledge. now, it's time to go back and review it all and take those tests. it breaks down the answers and explains it which is very helpful especially if you do not understand why your answer is wrong.

I got this and "Everything you need to know before beginning law school" (Amaz-on has it) and CRUISED my first year! http://www.amazon.com/Everything-Need-Before-Beginning-School/dp/0984082107/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1247842635&sr=8-1

I scored 156 on my first practice test, and after reading this book I am consistently scoring 168-170. The LSAT is very learnable, and with enough practice a person can learn how it is constructed, and how correct answers are obfuscated. I used this book, Powerscore's Logic Games Bible, and McGraw Hill's 2010 edition study guide. Now I am able to complete LSAT practice tests quicker (which is key!), and with much less stress. As I stated earlier, my score has also improved since I used this study guide. I think it is in large part b/c of this book: this book spells out in great detail the "why" and the "how." It helped me understand what I was doing wrong. It is a great buy, but only for those who are willing to read through the minutiae. This book is very dense, but on the bright side it does provide practice questions after each section, and full AR, LR and RC sections to practice on. Those who want a quick and dirty book of tips should look elsewhere.

I took the LSAT TestMasters prep course, and I feel like this book helped so much more on the games section. I didn't use it too much for reading comp and reasoning though.

This book is a HUGE disappointment. It doesn't reflect the types of questions found on the LSAT, the disk was a constant source of irritation, and I flushed money right down the toilet. Get the free study material from the LSAT (ETS) people--it worked for me.

With the thorough and understandable explanation given in this book I improved 100% on the LSAT 'games'. The other two sections, short arguments and reading, were also explained pretty clearly, but I would have liked to have more instruction. Overall, this book is very readable and very helpful.
