All Music Guide - Heather Phares
On the group's 15th album, 1999's Masterpiece, Special EFX deliver more smooth, worldly jazz. Chieli Minucci produced the album and is also featured on guitar, highlighting the Latin and African-tinged compositions with his technical skill. A special remix of "Down to the Bone" is also included on Masterpiece, adding yet another dimension to the group's sound.

    Highly Recommended

I bought this cd without any high expectations. However, I was blown away by every song on it! The songs contain highly talented musicians, the guitar was amazing. The man on the keyboard, Lao Tizer, deserves alot of praise also. His addition to this cd was superb and one of the main reasons I so highly recommend it. If you love good music, you'll love this cd. My advice: go out and buy it!
